Bell Media credited Heated Rivalry among the shows helping attract audiences, but available figures do not establish how many subscriptions the series generated or retained.
How many subscribers does Crave have?
BCE reported 5.07 million Crave subscriptions at the end of Q2 2026. That is slightly more than five million, rather than a live count for October 2026. BCE also reported 23% year-over-year growth in total subscriptions and 49% year-over-year growth in direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming subscribers. The DTC growth rate is a separate measure; it should not be read as the growth rate for Crave’s total subscriptions. BCE’s Q2 2026 results provide the reported figures.
Did Heated Rivalry bring subscribers to Crave?
Bell Media connected Heated Rivalry with Crave’s audience momentum, but the public figures cited here do not isolate the series’ effect on sign-ups or cancellations. Bell Media reported 4.6 million Crave subscribers nationally in Q4 2025 and 26% subscription growth that quarter, and said the series was among the titles helping attract new audiences. That is the company’s explanation of performance, not a measurement of how many subscribers the show caused Crave to gain. Bell Media’s March 2026 update gives that account.
The figures rose from 4.6 million in Q4 2025 to 5.07 million at the end of Q2 2026, but they refer to different reporting periods. The increase between them cannot be assigned to one show: the results do not break out subscriptions attributable to Heated Rivalry. BCE said DTC subscriber growth supported the latest annual increase, without quantifying the series’ contribution.

How popular was the series on Crave?
Bell Media said Heated Rivalry was Crave’s most-watched series from December 19 to December 31, 2025. This is a platform-specific ranking for that holiday window, reported by Bell Media; it is not a third-party audience measurement or a subscriber tally. Bell Media’s holiday-period announcement reported the ranking.
Sean Cohan, Bell Media’s president, said, “We’ve always believed that when you take creative risks and back Canadian storytellers in a meaningful way, audiences will show up – and this holiday season they did just that,” in the same announcement. It expresses the company’s interpretation of the viewing result, rather than independently establishing the series’ effect on subscriptions.

What is Heated Rivalry based on?
Bell Media describes the show as a Crave Original created by Jacob Tierney and based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers books. The source novel, Rachel Reid’s Heated Rivalry, is Book 2 in that series. Harlequin’s catalog entry describes it as a hockey romance and identifies the book’s connection to the screen series. Reading the novel is optional; it is the source material, not a prerequisite for watching.
Bell Media announced that season two was scheduled to premiere in Spring 2027. Release schedules can change, so check Bell Media’s season-two announcement for updates.
