There is no fair, like-for-like net-worth comparison between Norwich City and Ipswich Town’s current owners. Forbes displayed Norwich lead owner Mark Attanasio’s estimated personal net worth at $1.9 billion on 4 October 2026. Ipswich’s control is recorded through Gamechanger Holdings Ltd, and the available sources do not establish a comparable combined personal-wealth figure for its investors.
Current ownership and available wealth estimates
| Club | Current control | Ownership evidence and date | Personal wealth estimate | What can be compared |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Norwich City | Norfolk Holdings, led by Mark Attanasio | BBC Sport reported that Norfolk Holdings held approximately 85% of Norwich’s ordinary shares after the March 2025 transaction. BBC Sport, 3 March 2025; see also the Companies House filing history. | Forbes displayed Attanasio’s estimated personal net worth as $1.9 billion on 4 October 2026. Forbes profile. | A dated estimate is available for the lead owner, but it is not a measure of Norwich’s value or of money committed to the club. |
| Ipswich Town | Gamechanger Holdings Ltd | Companies House records Gamechanger Holdings Ltd as a person with significant control effective 3 June 2026, when Gamechanger20 Limited ceased to be one. Companies House filing history. | A comparable combined personal net-worth figure for the current investor group is not established in the available sources. | The filing identifies a corporate control layer, not one individual whose personal wealth can be directly compared with Attanasio’s. |
Why Ipswich’s figure cannot be ranked against Norwich’s
Companies House identifies Gamechanger Holdings Ltd as the entity with significant control over Ipswich Town, but that filing does not provide the combined personal net worth of the people behind the group. Without a substantiated figure on the same basis, claims that one club’s owners are richer than the other’s would go beyond the evidence.
Different financial measures should not be treated as interchangeable. A company’s assets, an investor’s stake, a football club’s valuation, and an individual’s estimated net worth each describe something different. Nor does a personal net-worth estimate show how much cash an owner has available or intends to put into a club.
Delia Smith and Michael Wynn Jones are former majority owners
Norwich’s 2023/24 annual report described Delia Smith and Michael Wynn Jones as joint majority shareholders at that time. Following the 2025 ownership change, BBC Sport reported that they held 10% of the ordinary shares together, while Companies House records them as having ceased to be persons with significant control in March 2025. Companies House filing history; BBC Sport, 3 March 2025.

What the figures do—and do not—show
- Norwich’s majority control is associated with Norfolk Holdings, which held approximately 85% of ordinary shares after the March 2025 transaction, according to BBC Sport’s report of the club statement.
- Forbes’ $1.9 billion figure is an estimate of Mark Attanasio’s personal net worth displayed on 4 October 2026. It is date-specific and can change.
- Ipswich’s current control is recorded through Gamechanger Holdings Ltd; the cited filing does not establish a single individual owner or a combined personal-wealth total for the investor group.
- The available evidence does not support a definitive “who is richer?” ranking between the current ownership on both sides.
