The 4 Best QLED TVs of 2026

The best QLED TVs currently recommended in 2026 include the Sony BRAVIA 9, Hisense U7SG, TCL QM7K, and TCL QM6K. Compare their picture quality, gaming features, sizes, and trade-offs before buying.

The best QLED TV for your money in 2026 is not automatically the newest model. The current standouts include older sets that still deliver strong picture quality and gaming features at prices that can make more sense than paying a premium for a model-year refresh.

These recommendations are based on the current RTINGS QLED roundup, updated June 12, 2026. They are the best QLED-style TVs currently recommended—not four TVs that were all released as 2026 models. The Sony BRAVIA 9, TCL QM7K, and TCL QM6K are earlier-generation models, while Sony’s 2026 BRAVIA 9 II is technically outside the conventional QLED category because it uses RGB Mini LED technology.

What to know before buying a QLED TV

QLED is an LED-backlit LCD technology that uses quantum dots to improve color and brightness. It is not the same as OLED. A QLED TV can be brighter, usually costs less at large screen sizes, and avoids the burn-in concerns associated with OLED for most households. However, it cannot control each pixel independently, so even the best QLED TVs may show some blooming around subtitles or bright objects on a dark background.

Many premium QLED models also use Mini LED backlights. Mini LED can improve local dimming and black levels, but “Mini LED” and “QLED” are not perfectly interchangeable terms. Check the actual model and specifications rather than assuming that every television using one label has the same panel or backlight performance.

The four best QLED TVs of 2026

Best for Model Panel and refresh rate Available sizes Main compromise
Best overall Sony BRAVIA 9 4K VA LCD, 120Hz 65, 75, 85 inches Higher gaming input lag and more motion blur than some rivals
Best mid-range Hisense U7SG 4K VA LCD, 165Hz 55, 65, 75, 85, 100 inches Blue-tinted skin tones and less precise local dimming
Best lower mid-range TCL QM7K 4K VA LCD, 144Hz 55, 65, 75, 85, 98 inches Blue tint and visible glow around bright objects
Best budget TCL QM6K 4K VA LCD, 144Hz 55, 65, 75, 85, 98 inches Weaker blacks, haloing, and no full-fledged quantum-dot layer

1. Sony BRAVIA 9: Best QLED TV overall

The Sony BRAVIA 9 is the strongest choice if picture quality matters more than getting the lowest possible price. Its VA LCD panel, Mini LED-style backlight system, glossy screen, and strong processing produce a bright, accurate image with deep blacks and relatively little haloing for an LCD TV.

Sony’s image processing is particularly useful when you watch a mixture of high-quality 4K streaming, cable, sports, and older or compressed content. The BRAVIA 9 also supports Dolby Vision and has a native 120Hz refresh rate. It runs Google TV and is sold in 65-, 75-, and 85-inch sizes.

It is not the ideal television for a competitive gamer. Its input lag is higher than some alternatives, and fast motion can look blurrier during games. The BRAVIA 9 is also not a 2026-generation model: Sony’s successor is the BRAVIA 9 II, which uses RGB Mini LED and is technically no longer a conventional QLED. That makes the original BRAVIA 9 worth considering when retailers discount remaining inventory.

Best for: Movie and TV viewers who want accurate processing, strong HDR performance, and a premium picture without moving to OLED.

2. Hisense U7SG: Best mid-range QLED TV

The Hisense U7SG is the value-oriented pick for buyers who want advanced gaming features without paying premium-TV prices. It has a 165Hz native refresh rate, low input lag, PC high-refresh support, Dolby Vision, and a matte finish that helps reduce reflections in a bright room.

The U7SG is available in five sizes, from 55 inches through 100 inches. Its large-size options can be financially attractive if you want a theater-like screen without stepping up to a premium Sony or OLED model.

The trade-off is image accuracy. Out of the box, the U7SG can show a noticeable blue tint, including in skin tones, and its local dimming is less precise than the BRAVIA 9’s. The matte coating reduces glare but can make the picture look slightly hazy compared with a glossy display. If you are comparing listings, confirm the suffix: the U7SG is the Google TV version, while the retailer-specific U7SF uses Fire TV. Do not assume every U7 television has the same operating system.

Best for: Gamers, bright-room viewers, and shoppers who want high refresh rates or a very large screen for less money.

3. TCL QM7K: Best lower mid-range QLED TV

The TCL QM7K offers many of the features that make more expensive gaming TVs appealing. It supports 4K at 144Hz, 1080p at up to 288Hz, variable refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and DTS passthrough. It has two HDMI 2.1 ports and uses Google TV.

The glossy screen and VA panel can produce a strong contrasty image, while the 55-, 65-, 75-, 85-, and 98-inch options give shoppers considerable flexibility. For a household that wants a large TV for movies, console gaming, and streaming, the QM7K can be a better use of the budget than spending more on features that will not be visible from the sofa.

It is less bright and less accurate than the Hisense U7SG. The QM7K also has a visible blue tint out of the box and less precise local dimming, so bright subtitles, stars, or interface elements may create a glow against dark scenes.

TCL’s current U.S. catalog also lists the newer QM7L. Check the full model suffix before buying, especially when comparing a retailer’s sale listing with professional reviews of the QM7K.

4. TCL QM6K: Best budget QLED TV

The TCL QM6K is the budget recommendation, but it comes with an important qualification: according to RTINGS, it does not use a full-fledged quantum-dot layer despite appearing in a QLED roundup. It earns its place because of its overall performance and value, not because it perfectly matches the marketing label.

The QM6K has a 144Hz native refresh rate, two HDMI 2.1 ports, 4K/144Hz support, 1080p/288Hz support, VRR, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, DTS passthrough, and Google TV. It is offered in sizes from 55 to 98 inches, making it one of the more affordable routes to a very large screen.

Its weaknesses become more apparent in dark rooms and with lower-quality content. Blacks are weaker, bright objects and subtitles can produce visible haloing, and low-bitrate streams may look noisier. It also shows less detail with low-resolution sources. If you mainly watch high-quality 4K streaming or play games, those limitations may be acceptable. If you watch cable, older movies, or heavily compressed video, spending more on the QM7K, U7SG, or BRAVIA 9 could produce a cleaner picture.

Best for: Budget-conscious shoppers who want a large, feature-rich gaming TV and can accept weaker dark-scene performance.

How to choose without overspending

  1. Set the total purchase budget. Include sales tax, delivery, wall mounting, a stand, and any soundbar or extended warranty. A low sticker price can become a costly purchase once installation and accessories are added.
  2. Choose the screen size based on your room. The four models offer sizes from 55 inches to 100 inches, but the largest option is not automatically the best value. Measure the wall, stand, viewing distance, and delivery path before paying for a 98- or 100-inch set.
  3. Prioritize refresh rate only if you will use it. The U7SG, QM7K, and QM6K are especially attractive for PC and console gaming. For films, television, and most streaming, the Sony’s 120Hz panel is already sufficient.
  4. Decide whether glare or picture clarity matters more. The Hisense U7SG’s matte finish helps in bright rooms but can look slightly hazy. The Sony, TCL QM7K, and TCL QM6K use glossy finishes that can deliver a clearer-looking image but reflect windows and lamps more strongly.
  5. Check the exact suffix and operating system. Confirm whether you are buying the Hisense U7SG or U7SF, and distinguish TCL’s QM7K and QM6K from newer listings such as the QM7L. Model names that look nearly identical can have different platforms and tested performance.
  6. Compare sale prices against performance, not release year. A discounted earlier-generation model can be a smarter purchase than a newer television with only minor feature changes. The BRAVIA 9 is a good example: it remains a top recommendation even though Sony has released the BRAVIA 9 II.

QLED versus OLED for your budget

Choose QLED if you want high brightness, large screen sizes, lower prices during sales, or a display that is less concerning for long periods of static content. QLED is also a sensible choice for a bright living room or a household that watches varied content from streaming services, cable, and games.

Choose OLED if pixel-level black control, wide viewing angles, and near-total elimination of blooming matter more than maximum brightness or the lowest cost. OLED pixels can turn off individually; QLED TVs rely on zones in the backlight, so their black performance depends on local dimming.

For most buyers, the practical decision is not simply “newest versus oldest.” Compare the actual discount, screen size, gaming requirements, room lighting, and return policy. A premium QLED bought at a clearance price may offer better value than a newer budget model, while the QM6K may be entirely reasonable if the goal is a large screen at the lowest upfront cost.

FAQ

Are these all 2026 QLED TV models?

No. This is a current 2026 recommendation list, not a list of four newly released 2026 televisions. The Sony BRAVIA 9, TCL QM7K, and TCL QM6K are earlier-generation models that remain recommended for their tested performance, pricing, and availability.

Which of these QLED TVs is best for gaming?

The Hisense U7SG has the highest native refresh rate at 165Hz and supports PC high-refresh gaming. The TCL QM7K and QM6K support 4K/144Hz and 1080p/288Hz, while the Sony BRAVIA 9 is limited to 120Hz and has higher input lag and more motion blur than some competitors.

Does the TCL QM6K really use quantum dots?

RTINGS says the QM6K does not use a full-fledged quantum-dot layer, even though it is included in the QLED roundup. It is recommended for its value and overall performance, so shoppers should not treat the QLED label as proof that it has the same color hardware as higher-end models.

Should I buy the Sony BRAVIA 9 or wait for the BRAVIA 9 II?

The BRAVIA 9 II is Sony’s newer 2026 successor and uses RGB Mini LED, making it technically different from a conventional QLED. Buy the BRAVIA 9 if its discounted price fits your budget and you value its processing and picture quality; choose the 9 II if you specifically want the newer technology and its price premium is acceptable.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Bottom Line

The Sony BRAVIA 9 is the best overall choice for picture quality, while the Hisense U7SG is the strongest mid-range option for gaming and bright rooms. The TCL QM7K is a balanced lower mid-range buy, and the TCL QM6K is the budget pick for shoppers who want a large screen and modern gaming features at the lowest cost.

Before checking out, compare the exact model suffix, screen size, retailer return policy, installation costs, and final all-in price. In 2026, the best deal may be an older model that has been discounted—not necessarily the newest TV on the shelf.
