The least expensive current bundle is $15 per month, while the broadest Toyota package costs $25 per month, before taxes and surcharges.
Whether that is worthwhile depends less on the list of features than on what you already pay for elsewhere. If you use Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a phone hotspot, an auto club, and your insurer’s roadside coverage, Toyota’s subscription may duplicate services you already have. If you rely on remote climate control or Toyota’s built-in emergency features, the calculation is different.
Toyota Connected Services prices
Toyota’s current U.S. plans page lists four main subscription options. Pricing and availability can vary by model, model year, trim, and installed equipment.
| Plan | What it includes | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Music Lover | Remote Connect plus Integrated Streaming for existing Apple Music and Amazon Music accounts | $15 per month |
| Go Anywhere | Remote Connect plus Drive Connect, including Cloud Navigation, Intelligent Assistant, and Destination Assist | $15 per month |
| Premium | Remote Connect, Drive Connect, and Integrated Streaming | $25 per month |
| Wi-Fi Connect | AT&T in-vehicle 4G LTE hotspot | $25 per month via AT&T |
Remote Connect is included in every bundle currently listed by Toyota. Toyota does not show a standalone Remote Connect price on its current plans page, so owners should not assume they can buy remote start or remote locking separately for less.

- Bright, high-resolution 5” glass capacitive touchscreen display lets you easily view your route
- Get more situational awareness with alerts for school zones, speed changes, sharp curves and more
- View food, fuel and rest areas along your active route, and see upcoming cities and milestones
- View Tripadvisor traveler ratings for top-rated restaurants, hotels and attractions to help you make the most of road trips
- Directory of U.S. national parks simplifies navigation to entrances, visitor centers and landmarks within the parks
Toyota also lists Service Connect at $8 per month in a model-specific 2026 applicability chart. That chart says Service Connect is not renewable as a standalone product for the 2026 GR86 entry, illustrating why the subscription screen for a specific vehicle is more reliable than a generic price list.
Advertised prices exclude taxes, fees, and surcharges. Toyota’s terms also allow monthly, annual, or other subscription terms, and prices may change.
What you actually get for the money
Remote Connect
Remote Connect is the feature most likely to determine whether the subscription feels useful. Depending on the Toyota, it can provide:
- Remote engine start and stop
- Remote climate control
- Door, trunk, or hatch locking and unlocking
- Vehicle or last-parked location
- Vehicle-status notifications
- Guest Driver monitoring and alerts
- Remote headlights, hazards, horn, and lock/unlock confirmation
- Digital Key on supported vehicles
You can use Remote Connect through the Toyota app and, on supported vehicles, through the key fob or a smartwatch. Toyota requires an active trial or paid subscription for Remote Connect use.
Digital Key requires an active Remote Connect subscription and Bluetooth connectivity. Remote Connect is not available for manual-transmission vehicles under Toyota’s 2026 disclosures, and some manual-transmission vehicles also lack remote start.
Safety Connect
Safety Connect is Toyota’s emergency-response service. It includes the in-vehicle SOS button, Automatic Collision Notification, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, and Stolen Vehicle Locator.
Automatic Collision Notification is not a guarantee that every crash will be detected. Toyota says it is designed to activate after airbag deployment or certain severe rear-end collisions, but only in limited circumstances.
Stolen Vehicle Locator is also not an owner-operated GPS tracker. You must file a police report, obtain the case number, and contact Toyota’s response center. Toyota agents then work with law enforcement.

Service Connect
Service Connect provides Vehicle Health Reports, vehicle and maintenance alerts, maintenance reminders, and applicable recall and service-campaign information.
The important financial and practical limitation is that this information is not real time. The Toyota app’s “Vehicle Diagnostic Data” card reflects the last time Toyota collected information from the vehicle. It should supplement, not replace, service records, warning lights, inspections, or a mechanic’s diagnosis.
Drive Connect
Drive Connect is Toyota’s built-in navigation and voice-assistance package. It includes Cloud Navigation, Google Points of Interest data, Intelligent Assistant, and Destination Assist.
Intelligent Assistant is Toyota’s “Hey Toyota” voice system. Destination Assist connects you with a live agent who can send an address or point of interest to the vehicle’s navigation system. To open it from Cloud Navigation, use Cloud Navigation → Menu → Destination Assist. You can also say, “Hi, Toyota, call Destination Assist,” or press the steering-wheel Talk Switch and say, “Call Destination Assist.”

Wi-Fi Connect turns the vehicle into an AT&T 4G LTE hotspot. Depending on the model and year, Toyota says the hotspot can support up to 10 devices, although its general Connected Services page refers to up to five. The documentation for your vehicle controls.
Integrated Streaming connects existing Apple Music or Amazon Music accounts through the vehicle’s Audio Source system. It requires both a supported third-party music subscription and an active Wi-Fi Connect subscription. In Toyota’s 2026 chart, the Music Lover and Premium plans have no data-consumption restriction for Integrated Streaming.
That means the $15 Music Lover plan is not a replacement for an Apple Music or Amazon Music subscription. It provides vehicle integration; the underlying music account is still yours to pay for.
How Toyota’s free trials work
Trials are where many owners misread the eventual cost. Connected Services trials are included at no additional charge when Toyota provides them with the vehicle, but their lengths differ by service and vehicle.

- 【Smart Voice Alerts】 This GPS navigation system provides clear turn-by-turn voice guidance, and also alerts you to speed limits and school zones, helping you drive more safely.
- 【Custom Truck Routing】 Supports multiple modes including Car, Truck, Bus, RV, Bicycle, and Pedestrian. In Truck/RV mode, the system automatically avoids low bridges, weight-restricted roads, and narrow lanes.
- Except for Wi-Fi Connect, trials generally begin on the original purchase or lease date of a new vehicle—not when you first install the Toyota app.
- Wi-Fi Connect trials begin when the service is activated or enrolled.
- When a trial expires, the associated service stops unless you enroll in a paid plan.
- A long Safety Connect or Service Connect trial does not imply an equally long Remote Connect trial.
Examples in Toyota’s current 2026 materials include:
| Vehicle | Trial examples |
|---|---|
| 2026 Corolla Cross | At least five years for Safety Connect and Service Connect; generally one year for Remote Connect and Drive Connect on specified grades; Wi-Fi Connect up to 30 days or 3 GB |
| 2026 Highlander | At least five years for Safety Connect and one year for Remote Connect on all grades |
| 2026 C-HR | At least five years for Safety Connect and Service Connect; three years for Remote Connect; Wi-Fi Connect 30 days or 3 GB |
| 2026 GR86 | One year for Safety Connect, Service Connect, and Remote Connect; three months for Audio Multimedia |
Check the Toyota app rather than relying on the vehicle’s model name alone. Trim and option-package differences can change the trial.

Toyota also says a canceled telematics control module may take several days to deactivate, depending on vehicle connectivity.

Remote Connect is the strongest value for the right owner
At current bundle pricing, the practical entry cost for Remote Connect is usually $15 per month because Toyota packages it with either Integrated Streaming or Drive Connect.
That can be reasonable if you regularly preheat or cool the vehicle, need remote locking, use Digital Key, monitor a teen or guest driver, or frequently forget where you parked. It may also be useful for an EV or plug-in vehicle when the supported Toyota system provides remote charging controls.
The value is especially easy to see during extreme weather if remote climate control is something you use several times each week. Conversely, paying $180 per year for a feature used twice is poor value, even if the monthly price looks small.
Drive Connect is harder to justify for many drivers
Go Anywhere is mainly a $15-per-month purchase of Toyota’s Cloud Navigation, Intelligent Assistant, and Destination Assist, with Remote Connect included. If you already use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto for navigation and voice commands, those features may not add enough to justify the renewal.
Destination Assist is the more distinctive feature because it connects you to a live agent. But occasional use may not justify a recurring charge by itself.
Wi-Fi Connect only works financially if it replaces something
At $25 per month, Wi-Fi Connect costs $300 per year before taxes. It makes more sense for families with several passengers and devices, or for people who routinely use the Toyota as a hotspot. If one person needs occasional connectivity, a phone hotspot may be simpler and already included in an existing wireless plan.
Do not treat it as unlimited general-purpose internet. Availability depends on AT&T coverage and vehicle compatibility, and Integrated Streaming still requires a separate Apple Music or Amazon Music account.

Safety Connect is an insurance-style decision
Safety Connect may be worth keeping for automatic collision notification, SOS access, enhanced roadside assistance, and Toyota’s response center. But compare it with roadside assistance from your auto insurer, an auto club, a credit card, or a new-car warranty. Avoid paying twice for substantially similar roadside benefits.
Service Connect is mostly a convenience
Service Connect can make maintenance reminders and vehicle alerts easier to find, but its data is not live. Owners who already track maintenance through a dealer, repair shop, dashboard reminders, or their own records may get little additional value from a paid renewal.
Common failure points
- No cellular signal, GPS, or compatible network: Connected Services depend on the telematics device, cellular service, GPS, and compatible 4G technology. Features can be delayed or unavailable when one of those fails.
- Remote start is not universal: Transmission type, model, trim, and equipment matter. Never remotely start a gasoline vehicle in an enclosed space or with a child inside.
- Key-fob start may still require payment: Toyota’s current Remote Connect FAQ says the key-fob function requires an active trial or paid subscription. Older models may follow different legacy rules.
- Diagnostic information can be stale: Service Connect reports the last transmission, not necessarily the vehicle’s current condition.
- Stolen Vehicle Locator requires law enforcement involvement: It is not a self-service map for tracking a stolen car.
FAQ
How much does Toyota Connected Services cost per month?
Toyota currently lists Music Lover and Go Anywhere at $15 per month, Premium at $25 per month, and Wi-Fi Connect at $25 per month through AT&T. Taxes, fees, and surcharges may apply, and availability varies by vehicle.
Can I pay for Toyota Remote Connect by itself?
Toyota’s current plans page does not display a standalone Remote Connect price. Remote Connect is included in each listed Connected Services bundle, so the least expensive listed bundle is $15 per month.
Does Toyota Connected Services automatically renew after the trial?
A paid plan can automatically renew monthly or annually if auto-renewal is selected. After a trial ends, the service stops unless you enroll in a paid subscription. Check the Toyota app for the vehicle’s specific trial end date and billing status.
Is Toyota Connected Services worth paying for?
It is most likely worthwhile if you regularly use remote climate control, remote locking, Digital Key, driver monitoring, Toyota’s built-in navigation, or emergency-response features. It is less compelling if your phone handles navigation and music, you already have roadside coverage, and you rarely use the Toyota app.
The Bottom Line
Toyota Connected Services can be worth $15 per month for an owner who uses Remote Connect often. The $180 annual cost is easier to justify when remote climate control, Digital Key, or driver monitoring solves a recurring problem—not when the subscription simply unlocks an occasional convenience.
Use the included trials, record each service’s separate expiration date, and compare the benefits with CarPlay or Android Auto, your phone plan, and existing roadside coverage. Keep only the services you actually use. For many owners, that means Remote Connect is the useful part, while Drive Connect, Wi-Fi Connect, or Service Connect may not justify another recurring bill.
