Professional-development courses can be a low-cost way to improve the skills that affect your earning power: managing time, communicating clearly, leading conversations, and working well with other people. LinkedIn Learning access is not usually sold as a one-off purchase, however, so the value depends on how much of the catalog you will use and whether you already have access through work, school, or a Premium subscription.
These eight courses are strong starting points for different workplace needs. The list was checked on August 9, 2026, using practical coverage, current catalog availability, workplace usefulness, and course length as the main criteria.

Released May 5, 2023, it covers emotional-intelligence fundamentals, mindset, stress, social awareness, perspective-taking, listening, adaptability, conflict management, and the gap between intention and impact.
This is a sensible pick if technical ability is not the problem but workplace interactions are. The material can help you examine how you react under pressure and how colleagues may experience your communication. It includes five quizzes and is included in LinkedIn Learning’s Becoming a Manager and Human Skills for Managers certificates, as well as Microsoft’s Professional Soft Skills Learning Pathway.
3. Public Speaking Foundations

The course is useful even if you rarely give formal presentations. Interview answers, project updates, sales calls, and team meetings all benefit from a clear structure and confident delivery. It includes two exercise files and seven quizzes and is part of a Toastmasters International Professional Certificate.

Best for: Handling setbacks, uncertainty, and sustained workplace pressure.
Emily Anhalt’s Building Resilience is a 47-minute general-level course released July 25, 2024. Tatiana Kolovou’s Communicating Across Cultures is a 34-minute beginner course released February 28, 2023. It covers cultural awareness, hidden bias, language differences, time orientation, speaking styles, rapport, communication-style adaptation, and cultural acuity.
It is a compact option if you work with international clients, remote colleagues, or a culturally varied team. The course includes one exercise file and three quizzes.
There is an important limitation: this is an introduction, not a substitute for learning about a particular person or culture. General cultural characteristics should never override individual personality, preferences, or the context of a specific conversation. Treat the material as a prompt to ask better questions and adapt thoughtfully, not as a collection of fixed stereotypes.

Giving and Receiving Feedback is currently listed in LinkedIn Learning’s trending Professional Development courses. It is taught by Dr. Gemma Leigh Roberts, runs for 33 minutes, and was released on April 4, 2023. The current Professional Development catalog listing does not expose a skill level for the course.
Choose it if you need a short starting point before a review, one-to-one, coaching discussion, or difficult conversation. Feedback skills are useful in both directions: giving specific information about behavior and impact, and receiving criticism without becoming defensive or dismissing useful information.

Full access requires an active eligible subscription or organizational access. Check your employer, library, school, or professional association before paying for a subscription; workplace access may already be included.
Cost and certificate details to check before enrolling
LinkedIn Learning does not currently offer one-off, a-la-carte purchases of individual courses. Access requires an eligible Premium subscription or organizational access. That makes a single 34-minute course poor value if you pay for only that course and do not use anything else in the catalog.

LinkedIn Learning provides a Certificate of Completion when you finish a course. You can add it to your LinkedIn profile, download or print it as a PDF, or share it as an image. It documents course completion, but it does not equal a professional license, degree, or independently accredited certification.

Downloading a course before a trip therefore does not preserve access after your subscription ends.
Which course should you take first?
| Your immediate problem | Start with |
|---|---|
| You are overloaded and constantly switching tasks | Time Management Fundamentals |
| You avoid presentations or struggle to explain ideas | Public Speaking Foundations |
| You need smoother collaboration | Teamwork Foundations |
| You react poorly to stress or conflict | Developing Your Emotional Intelligence |
| You are dealing with uncertainty or a setback | Building Resilience |
| You work across countries, languages, or cultures | Communicating Across Cultures |
| Your emails, texts, or calls often create confusion | Business Etiquette: Phone, Email, and Text |
| You need to prepare for a difficult performance conversation | Giving and Receiving Feedback |
For most learners, start with one course that addresses a current work problem rather than enrolling in all eight. Apply one or two techniques for a week, then decide whether another course fills a genuine gap. That approach gives you a better chance of turning a subscription into useful career value instead of collecting certificates you never use.
FAQ
Are LinkedIn Learning courses free?
Full access requires an eligible Premium subscription or organizational access. LinkedIn Learning may offer a free trial, but it automatically converts to a paid subscription unless canceled, so check the billing date and cancel at least one day beforehand if you do not want to continue.
Can I buy just one LinkedIn Learning course?
LinkedIn Learning does not currently offer one-off, a-la-carte purchases of individual courses. You generally need an eligible subscription or access through an organization, school, library, or another participating provider.
Do LinkedIn Learning certificates count as professional certifications?
They are Certificates of Completion. You can add them to your LinkedIn profile or download them, but they are not the same as a degree, professional license, or independently accredited certification.
Can I watch LinkedIn Learning courses offline?
Yes, through the LinkedIn Learning mobile app. Open a course, tap the Download icon, and find the material under My Courses → Downloaded. Offline access requires an active subscription, and the app may require you to sign in again after its login session expires.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Time Management Fundamentals is the strongest broad starting point, while the other seven let you target a specific workplace weakness. Before paying, check for employer or library access and compare the subscription cost with how many courses you realistically expect to complete. Take the certificate as evidence of learning—not as a substitute for an accredited qualification or proven work results.
