Chime’s IPO is no longer upcoming: the company completed its offering on June 13, 2025, selling 36.8 million Class A shares at $27 apiece. The $25 billion figure was Chime’s reported 2021 private-round valuation; the roughly $11 billion figure referred to a proposed valuation ahead of the IPO, not the completed offering’s definitive market capitalization.
What Chime’s IPO actually priced at
Chime sold 36.8 million Class A shares for $27 per share in its June 13, 2025 IPO, according to its FY2025 annual report. The total included 6.1 million shares sold by existing stockholders and 4.8 million shares sold by Chime under the underwriters’ option. Those are offering details—not the company’s total shares outstanding after the IPO.
The completed offering price was $1 above the top of the preliminary range. It does not, by itself, establish a definitive company valuation: calculating one requires a share-count basis, including how options and restricted stock units are treated. The offering share count is not the post-IPO fully diluted share count.

The figures describe different transactions and measures, so they are not a like-for-like valuation comparison. The 2021 number was a private-round valuation. The $11.2 billion was a reported maximum for proposed IPO terms. The $27 figure is the price investors paid per share in the completed offering.

What the amended S-1 said before the IPO
Chime’s June 2, 2025 amended registration statement proposed selling 32 million shares at $24 to $26 each and listing on Nasdaq under the ticker CHYM. These were preliminary terms. Reuters reported that the proposal implied a fully diluted valuation of up to $11.2 billion; “$11 billion” was a rounded shorthand, not the exact reported maximum. The final offering price was $27 per share and the completed share count was 36.8 million.

What Chime reported about its business
Chime’s FY2025 annual report says revenue grew 31% year over year to $2.2 billion and active members reached 9.5 million. These are company-reported annual figures, not independent assessments of performance or customer outcomes. In his stockholder letter, co-founder and CEO Chris Britt wrote, “We built a model that profits with our members, not from them.” That is management’s characterization of the business model.

What these figures do—and do not—tell investors
An IPO price is the per-share price set for the offering, not a promise about how a stock will perform after listing. The cited offering figures establish Chime’s initial public-offering terms, but they do not establish its current share price or market capitalization. No current trading figure is included here.
