There is no verified public figure for Amir Khan’s current net worth. Celebrity Net Worth currently estimates it at $40 million, while City A.M. reported an estimated £18 million in 2018. Those are separate, dated estimates—not audited accounts or a reliable range for what Khan is worth today.
What is Amir Khan’s estimated net worth?
The most useful answer is to identify the estimate and its source. Celebrity Net Worth currently lists Khan’s net worth as $40 million. The site says its figures are based on public sources and, where available, private tips and feedback; it presents them as estimates unless otherwise indicated. It does not provide an itemised, current balance sheet for Khan.
In a 2018 profile, City A.M. described Khan’s fortune as an estimated £18 million. That is a media estimate from that year, not an official financial disclosure. Because the estimates use different currencies, dates and methods, they should not be combined into a range or treated as directly comparable.
Why reported earnings do not establish net worth
Net worth is the value of a person’s assets minus liabilities at a particular time. Reported boxing purses or career earnings are gross income figures: they do not show what remains after taxes, training and other expenses, spending, debt, or changes in asset values. Celebrity Net Worth discusses reported fight earnings, including a possible large payout connected with Khan’s 2016 bout against Canelo Alvarez, but those reports do not establish Khan’s present net assets.

How Khan’s boxing career and businesses provide context
Boxing career
Khan won Olympic silver in 2004 and had a professional boxing career from 2005 to 2022, according to a 2024 Aletihad interview. BBC Sport reported in 2025 that he had retired in 2022 after losing to Kell Brook and was moving into promotion. These career milestones help explain why fight income is relevant to estimates, but they do not disclose how much wealth he has retained.
Businesses and investments
In the Aletihad interview, Khan described business and investment activities including Khan Promotions, Amir Khan Academy, Super Fighter League, Super Boxing League and real estate. He said, “I have a good real estate portfolio in Dubai.” The interview does not attach a valuation to the portfolio or establish the current value, ownership share or profitability of those ventures.
In 2025, Khan told BBC Sport, “I’m not expecting to make anything in the next couple of years as a promoter.” That was his expectation at the time, and it is a reason not to assume promotion was already a substantial source of wealth.

- Public estimates exist, but the sources cited here do not verify Khan’s current net worth.
- The $40 million figure is Celebrity Net Worth’s current estimate; the £18 million figure is City A.M.’s 2018 estimate.
- Reported fight income, career achievements, business activities and Khan’s description of his property portfolio offer financial context, not a calculation of current assets minus liabilities.
- Khan’s memoir, Fight For Your Life, is a first-person account of his life and career, not independent verification of his finances. In it, he writes, “I fought in front of huge audiences and earned millions. And then one day I looked at my bank account and it was all gone.”
Readers interested in Khan’s own account can find the memoir on Penguin’s publisher page. It should be read as memoir, not as proof of a current net-worth figure.
