Why do reports give different estate figures?
Media reports have published different estimates in euros. Vanity Fair Italia reported €69.5 million in January 2026, while Open reported an estate worth more than €60 million in December 2025. These are secondary-media estimates, not independently audited valuations. They are also denominated in euros, unlike Celebrity Net Worth’s dollar estimate, and should not be combined into a single precise figure.
Bardot died at age 91 on December 28, 2025, according to the Associated Press, citing a representative of her foundation. A reported estate value is not the same as a disclosed probate inventory: the reviewed sources do not establish an authoritative total or confirm reported inheritance disputes. How her later life and philanthropy relate to her wealth
Bardot retired from film in 1973 and devoted much of her later life to animal protection. Le Monde reports that she donated the bare ownership of her Saint-Tropez home, La Madrague, to her foundation, and sold jewelry, personal items, and signed photographs to support its work. The Guardian, reporting with AFP, said the total was almost 20 times the estimate; lots included clothing, furniture, self-portraits, guitars, and a typewriter she had used to write an autobiography. The proceeds were reported to go to her foundation and only child. The Guardian’s auction report describes a result from one sale, not a calculation of her net worth or the full estate.

Ignore fabricated claims about algorithmic trading
AFP Factuel found that online claims portraying Bardot as making money through algorithmic trading were fabricated. The foundation disputed the story, and the Banque de France said a purported bank statement in Bardot’s name was false. Those claims are not evidence of her finances.
