British Airways announced more frequent long-haul flights and new European routes for Summer 2026, including additional services to Kingston, Miami, Dallas-Fort Worth, Las Vegas, San Diego, Austin and Bangkok. The new short-haul routes include Heathrow–Tivat, Heathrow–Guernsey and three seasonal BA Cityflyer services. These are plans described in airline announcements—not confirmation that every flight is operating or currently available to book—so check BA’s live timetable before making travel plans.
What British Airways announced for Summer 2026
The announcements cover two different kinds of change: more or restored flights on existing long-haul routes, and new seasonal or year-round European services. Heathrow and Gatwick are the London airports for the long-haul changes and two new routes; BA Cityflyer’s additions use London City, Stansted and Glasgow.
Frequencies and dates below reflect British Airways and BA Cityflyer announcements published in 2025. They are not independently verified operating schedules. Check the airline’s current timetable and booking information for availability, changes or disruption.
Long-haul routes with more or restored flights
British Airways’ 21 August 2025 announcement described the following schedule changes. Where the announcement specified a London airport or weekly frequency, it is included here.

Other Middle East changes in the August announcement
The same release also listed daily Bahrain service, five weekly flights to Jeddah, 14 weekly to Riyadh and 14 weekly to Doha. These are announcement-era schedule details and should be checked against BA’s current timetable.
Keep the winter schedule separate
In a separate 16 March 2026 winter announcement, BA said Delhi’s three-daily frequency, introduced at the start of the summer season, would continue into winter. The release’s nine per cent growth figure compares BA long-haul flights from London in Winter 2026 with Winter 2025; it is not a Summer 2026 growth figure.

New British Airways routes from Heathrow
On 21 November 2025, BA announced two Heathrow routes. Both were announced with a Club Europe cabin option, which BA described as including Heathrow lounge access, additional personal space, a meal and drinks, and a larger baggage allowance.

For context on Tivat, BA cited Montenegro’s Statistical Office (MONSTAT): the country recorded 2.6 million tourist arrivals and almost 15.6 million overnight stays in 2024, with more than 96 per cent of overnight guests international. These are 2024 national tourism figures, not forecasts for the new route.

New seasonal BA Cityflyer routes
BA Cityflyer, British Airways’ wholly owned subsidiary, announced three seasonal routes on 4 December 2025. Each has a different departure airport and operating window.

BA Cityflyer said its route map would serve almost 30 European destinations. It also reported 18.9 million overnight stays in Sardinia in 2024, 38 per cent above 2023; the announcement did not make this a forecast of demand for the Stansted service.

How to choose among the new routes
- Match the departure airport to your trip. Tivat and Guernsey depart from Heathrow; Toulon departs from London City, Olbia from Stansted, and San Sebastián from Glasgow. The Cityflyer announcement also names London City and Edinburgh services to San Sebastián, and London City to Olbia.
- Check the operating window. Guernsey was announced as year-round and daily; the other new routes are seasonal, with specific start and end dates above.
- Verify the exact travel date and connections. Published schedules can change, and announced weekly frequencies do not establish that a particular departure is available. Confirm the itinerary and any onward connections in BA’s current timetable before booking.
- Compare the complete fare, not the press-release starting price. The fare figures above were quoted when the routes were announced and are not live prices. Check current fare conditions, baggage, cabin and taxes for your dates.
