What Stefan Rupp said about selling Bradford City
Rupp’s latest reported comments are from an interview with the Telegraph & Argus; the interview text was accessed through a Reddit post, not issued as a club statement. He says he is not seeking to sell and would not hand the club to someone he believes cannot improve it. He describes himself as enjoying ownership and points to momentum and a vision for the club. His direct question was: “Why should I sell it?” The reproduced interview is the basis for those remarks.
What the public ownership record confirms
Companies House lists Rupp as “Owner Of Ultimate Holding Company” and records that he has significant influence or control. That is evidence of his present registered control; it does not establish that a takeover process is under way, rule out private approaches, or determine whether a sale could happen later. The register’s filing history includes a PSC detail change dated 16 April 2026 and 2025 accounts filed on 3 April 2026, but neither filing proves a sale process. Rupp’s 2024 comments
In 2024, BBC Sport reported that Rupp had again said he was not looking to sell. He also said initial talks had begun about buying Valley Parade. That stadium discussion is historical and should not be read as an update on ownership of Bradford City. BBC Sport, 2024 coverage.

The 2021 WAGMI United offer
In 2021, Rupp rejected an offer from WAGMI United and said that no one connected with the club was actively trying to promote its sale. That was his response to a specific offer at that time; it does not establish what approaches, if any, have been made since. BBC Sport, December 2021.
What is—and is not—known about a takeover
The reported interview and the public company record support a limited conclusion: Rupp says he is not trying to sell, and he remains the registered controller identified by Companies House. They do not confirm an active negotiation, a prospective buyer, a sale price, or Rupp’s future intentions. The wording “told he doesn’t need to sell” should not be taken as proof that a third party instructed him; the reproduced interview most clearly supports his own stated position.
