How to Transfer Stocks and Cash From Webull to Another Broker

Submit a Webull ACATS transfer through the receiving broker using your WEB-prefixed account number and DTC 0158. Check eligibility, fees, settlement and tax lots first.

To move eligible stocks and cash out of Webull, open an account at the brokerage that will receive them and submit an ACATS transfer request there. Webull says to give the receiving firm your Webull account number with WEB in front and Webull’s DTC number, 0158. Check eligibility, unsettled activity, fees and account restrictions before submitting.

Start the transfer with your new broker

Webull says an outgoing transfer request must be submitted through the receiving broker, not initiated as an outgoing request in Webull. Ask the new firm how to file its ACATS request and confirm that it can accept your account registration and the assets you want to move. Its form requirements and fees are set by that firm.

  1. Open or identify the receiving brokerage account and ask the firm for its ACATS transfer process.
  2. Find your Webull account number on an account statement. Enter it with WEB prefixed, as Webull directs.
  3. Provide Webull’s DTC number: 0158.
  4. Choose a full or partial transfer, then submit the request through the receiving broker.

See Webull’s outgoing transfer instructions for the information it says the receiving firm needs.

Decide between a full and partial transfer

Request type What it does Key consideration
Full Moves eligible assets in the account; Webull says the account closes after the transfer completes. An account with a margin balance can transfer out only in full.
Partial Moves selected eligible assets and may leave the Webull account open. A partial request with a margin debit will be rejected. The active tax-lot method affects which lots move.

These options do not mean every balance or security can move in kind. Review the exclusions and account conditions below before choosing.

Check which assets and activity can transfer

Eligible securities and excluded assets

Webull’s overview lists U.S. exchange-listed stocks, ETFs, ADRs and eligible options among supported asset types, subject to whether they are tradable on its platform. Its outgoing-transfer guidance says fractional shares, Treasury bonds and money market funds cannot transfer through this process and will be liquidated after initiation. Options expiring within two weeks cannot transfer. Confirm specific holdings with both firms rather than assuming every position is eligible. See Webull’s outgoing guidance and its transfer basics.

Unsettled trades, deposits and margin

  • Trades and deposits must be settled before an ACATS transfer can complete.
  • Recent deposits may be subject to a holding period of up to 30 days from settlement, according to Webull.
  • If the account has a margin balance, Webull allows an outgoing transfer only as a full transfer; a partial request with a debit balance will be rejected.
  • Options close to expiration may be ineligible if they expire within two weeks.

Resolve or account for these conditions before filing. Webull’s guidance does not establish that a particular receiving broker will accept every account type or holding.

Budget for transfer fees and cash

Webull currently lists a $75 fee for an outgoing full or partial transfer, deducted from cash. Its pricing page also lists $75 per outgoing stock transfer. The Webull pages do not state a publication year for these figures, so check the current fee details before submitting. The receiving broker may charge its own fee; confirm that amount directly with it. Webull’s outgoing-transfer FAQ and pricing page list the fee.

Know what happens while the transfer is pending

Webull estimates that outgoing ACATS transfers typically take 3–5 business days, depending on the circumstances and the firms’ processing. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed completion time. Webull says trading, deposits and withdrawals are restricted while assets are being confirmed. Avoid scheduling activity that depends on using the account during that period. Its transfer restrictions and rejections guidance describes the account limitations, closure and residual sweeps.

After a full transfer completes, Webull says the account closes. Assets or funds that arrive after closure may be handled through a residual sweep, rather than remaining available in the closed account.

Verify positions and tax basis after arrival

When the receiving account shows the transfer, compare the positions and cash against your Webull records. For each transferred holding, check the share quantity, acquisition dates and cost basis; keep account statements and transfer records in case information is missing or needs correction.

For a partial transfer, Webull says the lots selected depend on the active tax-lot method, with FIFO and LIFO as examples. Webull estimates that cost-basis information reaches the receiving firm within 10–15 business days; the estimate is not a guarantee. IRS broker instructions generally direct the receiving broker to use the basis reported on a transfer statement, and IRS Publication 550 discusses records and identifying shares. See the Instructions for Form 1099-B (2026) and Publication 550 (2025). If the receiving account’s basis or dates do not match your records, contact the broker and retain documentation supporting the correct information.
