What is Birmingham City’s annual wage bill?
BBC Sport reported that Birmingham City spent £38.9 million on player wages in 2024/25. That was 9% higher than the £35.8 million reported for 2023/24. The same report put the club’s 2024/25 revenue at £35.6 million and its pre-tax loss at £34.6 million. BBC Sport’s report covers the club’s accounts for that completed financial year.
The £38.9 million figure is a reported annual player-wage amount, not an estimate of one player’s pay or a salary database’s current-season squad total. Companies House lists the latest accounts as covering the year to 30 June 2025; they were filed on 4 April 2026. The registry lists the next accounts as covering the year to 30 June 2026, due by 31 March 2027. Who is Birmingham City’s highest-paid player?
Salary databases currently identify Carlos Vicente as the club’s highest-paid player, with estimates of £50,000 per week. SalaryLeaks estimates that amount for the 2025/26 season, equivalent to £2.6 million over a 52-week year. SalaryLeaks’ Birmingham City estimates also put first-team squad salaries at £21.8 million for 2025/26.

Capology lists an estimated fixed salary of £50,000 per week for Vicente in 2026/27. Capology’s Birmingham City salary estimates describe a different season from SalaryLeaks’ figure. Neither database is an official disclosure of the player’s contract, so treat the weekly salary and ranking as estimates, not confirmed pay.

The available figures do not establish an equivalent all-staff payroll total, so the player-wage amount should not be described as the club’s complete payroll.
