The SecureVue update reported in May 2012 centered on long-period correlation and forensic searches—not a current product release. ChannelPro Network said the search engine could search and automatically profile more than 10 TB of data per day, a vendor capability reported at the time rather than an independently verified performance test.

What changed in the 2012 SecureVue update?

ChannelPro Network’s May 7, 2012 report described a new SecureVue platform version whose main change was the ability to run complex correlation and forensic searches across long periods. The report said the forensic search engine searched and automatically profiled more than 10 TB of data per day. That figure is the report’s description of product capability, not the result of independent testing. Read the ChannelPro report.

The update was presented as part of a broader enterprise security platform, rather than as a standalone search tool. The report described SecureVue as combining security information management, security configuration auditing, compliance automation, and contextual forensic analysis.

What was SecureVue used for?

Historical product materials describe SecureVue as software for collecting and analyzing security and compliance information. NIST’s security policy for SecureVue cryptographic modules characterizes the platform as combining security information management with governance, risk, and compliance functions. It lists data types such as logs, vulnerabilities, configurations, assets, performance, and network flows, and describes collection, correlation, archiving, analysis, and reporting. This is a description in a cryptographic-module security policy, not a current product catalog. See NIST’s SecureVue security policy.

In a June 16, 2015 announcement, EiQ Networks said SecureVue could automatically map audit data from the SANS Critical Security Controls to named compliance frameworks, including NIST, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, COBIT, FFIEC, NERC-CIP, and ISO 27002. The company said the capabilities were available through either a perpetual license or a SaaS service at that time; that historical statement does not establish current availability or terms. Read the 2015 announcement.

In that announcement, EiQ Networks Product Manager Kevin Landt said SecureVue enabled customers to assess infrastructure against critical security controls and provide operational intelligence on compliance mandates and industry best practices. This was the company’s product claim, not independent validation of security outcomes.

What this means for readers

SecureVue’s documented role was enterprise security monitoring, auditing, forensic analysis, and compliance management. The notable 2012 update was its reported ability to correlate and search across longer periods, with the contemporaneous report attributing a daily profiling capacity of more than 10 TB to its search engine. The later 2015 announcement added a company-described control-to-framework mapping capability. Those details explain the product’s historical positioning, but do not answer whether it remains a viable current platform.
