Bitunix says CoinGlass’s 2025 annual report ranked it seventh among global crypto derivatives exchanges by trading volume and tenth by open interest. Those are separate derivatives-market measures—not an overall ranking of every crypto exchange, and not evidence by themselves of safety or trading quality.
What Bitunix says the CoinGlass report ranked
In an article updated September 14, 2026, Bitunix attributes two positions to CoinGlass’s 2025 Crypto Derivatives Market Annual Report: No. 7 by trading volume and No. 10 by open interest. The claim is therefore about derivatives exchanges over 2025, as described by Bitunix—not a verified ranking of spot exchanges or of all exchange activity. Bitunix’s account of the ranking
CoinGlass’s report page is titled CoinGlass 2025 Crypto Derivatives Market Annual Report. Its indexed summary gives market-wide totals, but the report page was not available to inspect directly here. The ranking table, exchange sample, and calculation rules therefore cannot be independently confirmed from the available material. Bitunix’s article does not establish its absolute 2025 volume figure.
What trading volume and open interest measure
Trading volume
Trading volume counts derivatives trading activity over a period. A higher reported volume rank indicates more activity under the report’s counting rules; without those rules and the underlying table, it does not show how much volume Bitunix recorded or how it compares on other measures.

Open interest
Open interest is a snapshot measure of outstanding derivatives positions that have not been closed or settled. It is distinct from volume, which measures trading activity over time. A No. 10 open-interest position and a No. 7 volume position describe different dimensions and should not be treated as interchangeable rankings.
How large was the 2025 derivatives market?
CoinGlass’s indexed report summary states that total crypto derivatives trading volume reached $85.70 trillion in 2025, with average daily derivatives volume of $264.5 billion. These are market-wide figures, not Bitunix-specific totals. They establish the scale of the market in which the reported exchange ranking sits, but do not verify Bitunix’s position or share.

What the ranking does—and does not—tell you
- It is a reported derivatives-volume ranking: Bitunix attributes the seventh-place position to CoinGlass for 2025.
- It is not an overall exchange ranking: The claim does not establish a position among spot-only venues or across every kind of crypto exchange.
