There is no single best reselling app for every seller in India: the right choice depends on whether you want to sell products you own or source, share products for a margin, or earn through referrals. The official seller information available for Meesho and Shopsy is most useful for people listing their own products. Meesho describes a route for eligible non-GST sellers; Shopsy’s signup page asks for a GSTIN. Compare the registration rules, fees, order workflow and payout terms before choosing.
What does “reselling app” mean?
The term covers different ways of earning online. Check the business model before comparing apps, because a platform for listing your own stock is not automatically a social-reselling or affiliate service.
- Marketplace selling: You list products you own or source, manage your seller account and fulfill orders according to the marketplace’s rules. Meesho and Shopsy’s documented seller workflows fit this model.
- Social reselling: A reseller shares a supplier’s catalog with customers and earns a margin or other stated payment on sales. The official material cited here does not establish current features or availability for services often associated with this model.
- Affiliate or referral marketing: You direct people to a merchant and may earn a commission under a separate program’s terms. This is not the same as operating a marketplace seller account.
Because the models differ, an app cannot be ranked fairly on commission alone. Registration requirements, product responsibility, fulfillment and payment terms matter too.

Which app should you choose?
Consider Meesho if you need a non-GST registration route
Meesho’s seller guide says a seller without GST registration may register using an Enrolment ID/UIN, alongside an active bank account. Verify eligibility and the accepted documentation directly during signup. The same guide says catalogs are uploaded through the Supplier Panel and payments follow a seven-day cycle from delivery. Those specifics may suit sellers who prioritize a stated payout schedule and a documented non-GST route.

Do not assume that a service mentioned in older lists is currently operating or offers a particular feature. For affiliate-style income, verify the program’s current terms, eligible geography, payout and acceptance status on the provider’s own site.

How to compare costs beyond commission
A 0% commission claim is not the same as a guarantee that selling has no costs. Before listing, review the current rate card and seller terms for each product category and order scenario. Check for shipping, returns, advertising or other charges, and include them when setting a price.
- Find out how shipping and return costs are allocated, including for customer returns or failed deliveries.
- Check whether advertising is optional, available to your seller account and charged separately.
- Review payment timing and any conditions that can delay a payout.
- Read dispatch deadlines and the consequences of missing them.
- Confirm pickup coverage for your address and product type.
What to check before opening a seller account
- Choose your model. Decide whether you will list your own or sourced inventory, share someone else’s catalog, or refer customers through an affiliate program.
- Confirm eligibility. Check the platform’s live signup requirements for your business and documents. Meesho describes GSTIN or, for non-GST sellers, an Enrolment ID/UIN; Shopsy’s seller page describes GSTIN signup.
- Check category and customer fit. Confirm that your products can be listed and that the platform’s intended customer base makes sense for them.
- Calculate the full order economics. Use the current rate card and account terms rather than assuming a headline commission claim covers all charges.
- Assess operations. Verify catalog requirements, pickup serviceability, return handling, order deadlines, support channels and payout timing before committing stock.
- Start with a manageable catalog. Use the platform’s listing guidance and track actual order, return and payout results before expanding.
For your own listings, a phone tripod may help keep product photos steady, but it is optional: Shopsy says sellers can use mobile-phone photos and does not require a professional photoshoot. Neither cited platform requires a specific accessory.

Are platform size claims a guide to your likely sales?
No. Meesho’s FY2023–24 annual report reported more than 400,000 annual transacting sellers and approximately 110 million daily active product listings in December 2024. These are company-reported platform figures tied to those periods, not evidence of typical seller income or a guarantee that a new listing will sell.
