Behaviour Interactive acquired Rotterdam-based Codeglue to add European gaming talent and strengthen its external-development Services division. Announced on 22 August 2023, the deal made Codeglue the studio Behaviour Rotterdam; the transaction record says it closed that day but does not disclose a value.
Why did Behaviour Interactive acquire Codeglue?
Behaviour said the acquisition would strengthen its Services division and expand its access to gaming talent in Europe. The division provides development services to game companies, and the company described Codeglue’s multi-platform co-development experience as a fit for that work.
Behaviour co-founder, CEO and executive producer Rémi Racine said: “The addition of Codeglue’s experienced team further enhances the capabilities of our world-class Services division.” He also said Codeglue matched Behaviour’s needs and culture.
Behaviour’s announcement highlighted Codeglue’s recognition as Best Studio at the 2022 Dutch Game Awards. That award and the studio’s capabilities were cited by Behaviour in 2023.

How the acquisition fit Behaviour’s European expansion
Behaviour called Codeglue its third European expansion in six months. The moves differed in form and location:

What happened to Codeglue in the deal?
Codeglue was founded in Rotterdam in 2000 by Maurice Sibrandi and Peter de Jong. Behaviour’s 2023 announcement described the studio as having 30 employees at the time of the acquisition, and said it would operate as Behaviour Rotterdam. Peter de Jong was named the new studio’s general manager.

When did the acquisition close, and what did it cost?
Behaviour announced the acquisition on 22 August 2023. Canadian law firm Osler’s transaction record lists the same date as the completion date. The record does not disclose the deal value; no price can be established from the cited transaction information.
