The application deadline for Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) Advertisement No. 01/2025 was 27 March 2025. Applications are closed; the word “today” in the original deadline-day headline is no longer current. BPSSC advertised 28 Sub-Inspector Prohibition posts in Bihar’s Prohibition, Excise & Registration Department. The commission’s official page now lists later selection notices, including final results dated 30 December 2025.
What was the BPSSC SI Prohibition recruitment 2025?
Advertisement No. 01/2025 was a Bihar government recruitment for 28 Sub-Inspector Prohibition vacancies in the Prohibition, Excise & Registration Department. The official advertisement specified Level 6 pay. The application window has ended, so this recruitment is not open to new applicants.
The advertisement was issued on 24 February 2025. Its terms, including the vacancy count and selection process, are set out in the official BPSSC advertisement.
When was the last date to apply?
BPSSC set 27 March 2025 as the last date for online applications. A contemporaneous Scroll report published on that date described the deadline as “today”; that wording refers to 27 March 2025, not the current date. The application period is over.

What were the eligibility requirements?
The advertisement required Indian citizenship and a bachelor’s degree, or a recognized equivalent, obtained by 1 August 2024. It also used 1 August 2024 as the reference date for age. Age limits and provisions varied by category, and the physical standards varied by category and sex; there was no single age limit or physical measurement that applied to every applicant.
Applicants considering whether they met the original requirements should use the category-specific rules in the BPSSC advertisement, rather than relying on a generalized age range or a summary of physical standards.
How did the selection process work?
The advertised process included preliminary and mains written examinations, followed by a physical efficiency/eligibility test. The notice set out the subjects, qualifying thresholds and other examination rules.

Preliminary examination
The preliminary written examination comprised 100 questions for 200 marks and lasted two hours. The notice specified a deduction of 0.2 marks for each wrong answer.
Mains examination
The mains comprised two written papers. The advertisement specifies their subjects and qualifying thresholds, and applies the same 0.2-mark deduction per wrong answer in each written stage. Refer to the official notice for the paper-by-paper rules.
Physical stage
Candidates progressing through the written stages were subject to a physical efficiency/eligibility test. The physical standards were not uniform across all categories and sexes; the advertisement gives the relevant requirements.
