BPSSC FRO 2025 dates and current status
BPSSC’s Advertisement 02/2025 was for Range Officer of Forests in the Government of Bihar’s Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department. The application period ran from 1 May through 1 June 2025. Those dates apply only to the 2025 recruitment; candidates cannot apply now under that advertisement.
BPSSC’s official notice listing records the written examination on 24 August 2025, subsequent interview and physical-test notices, and final results published on 3 February 2026. The final result notice states that all 24 advertised posts were filled. See BPSSC’s official notice listing.
BPSSC also lists a separate Range Officer advertisement for 2026. It is a different recruitment cycle, so applicants should consult that advertisement and its notices for current dates and requirements rather than relying on the 2025 details.

Who was eligible for the 2025 FRO recruitment?
Education
Applicants needed a recognized bachelor’s degree with at least one of these subjects: animal husbandry and veterinary science, botany, chemistry, geology, mathematics, physics, statistics or zoology. The notice also accepted a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, forestry or engineering. The required qualification had to be held by 1 January 2025.
Citizenship, age and applicant categories
The advertisement required Indian citizenship and allowed men, women and third-gender candidates to apply. It set a baseline minimum age of 21, while maximum age limits depended on category and gender. The age calculations do not use one common reference date: minimum age was assessed as of 1 January 2025, and some maximum-age calculations referred to 1 August 2021. Because relaxation rules and limits vary, the original notice is necessary to determine an individual applicant’s eligibility.
