The BHU Junior Clerk recruitment was for 199 Group C posts, but applications are no longer open. The headline’s “today” referred to 22 April 2025: the original online application deadline was 17 April, while BHU later extended online applications to 30 April and hard-copy submissions to 5 May 2025, according to contemporaneous reporting. The latest official notice located described the CBT as expected in the last week of April 2026, a tentative window that does not establish the final test date or recruitment outcome.
What was the BHU Junior Clerk recruitment?
Banaras Hindu University (BHU), through its Recruitment & Assessment Cell, advertised 199 Junior Clerk posts in the Administrative Sector under Advertisement No. 07/2024-2025, dated 18 March 2025. The post was Group C, Post Code 50003. This was a BHU recruitment, not an IIT (BHU) recruitment.

What were the application deadlines and fee?
BHU’s original advertisement set 17 April 2025 at 5 p.m. as the deadline for online form submission and fee payment. It set 22 April 2025 at 5 p.m. for sending the downloaded form and enclosures. Scroll reported on 25 April 2025 that BHU extended the online deadline to 30 April at 5 p.m. and the hard-copy deadline to 5 May at 5 p.m. The extension is reported by Scroll, which linked to a notice described as the deferment notification.
The advertisement required online submission followed by delivery of the downloaded hard copy with enclosures to the Registrar, Recruitment & Assessment Cell, Holkar House, BHU, Varanasi. Its instruction stated: “Online mode of submission of application form shall be essential followed by submission of downloaded hard copy with all enclosures.”

The fee was non-refundable. Payment methods listed were internet banking, debit card, credit card and UPI.
Who was eligible?
The essential education requirement was a second-class graduate degree, together with either of these computer qualifications:

- At least six months’ training in computer use for office automation, bookkeeping and word processing from a certified institution; or
- A computer diploma recognized by AICTE.
The advertisement also required English typing at 30 words per minute or Hindi typing at 25 words per minute to qualify the computer typing test.
What was the selection process?
The original advertisement described a written test, followed for shortlisted candidates by a Computer Proficiency Test and skill test. The practical skills covered everyday computer use and MS Office tools, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Shortlisted candidates were to undergo original-document verification.

A subsequent BHU notice set out a CBT and online typing test. It said there would be no interview and that final selection would be based on CBT score among candidates who qualified the typing test, subject to document verification.

The notice specified 120 minutes and 360 total marks. Each correct answer earned 3 marks and each incorrect answer lost 1 mark. The paper was bilingual except for the language component.

Typing test and qualifying marks
The later notice described a 15-minute online typing test on the same date and at the same venue as the CBT. Candidates were to choose Hindi or English, with qualifying speeds of 25 words per minute in Hindi or 30 in English. CBT answers would be evaluated only for candidates who qualified the typing test.

What is known about the exam date and current status?
BHU’s later official notice said the Junior Clerk CBT “will be held during last week of the April, 2026.” It presented that period as tentative. The notice is not proof of the final test date, and the available information does not establish that the test occurred on a particular date, that results were declared or that appointments were made. The 2025 application deadlines have passed.
