The recruitment offered 25 posts; applications are no longer open. This guide records the original eligibility, fees and application process, and explains what happened after the deadline.
What the 2024 recruitment offered
APPSC advertised 25 Lecturer (DIET) posts on 16 August 2024 for the Department of State Council of Educational Research & Training, Government of Arunachal Pradesh. The advertised pay was Pay Matrix Level 9, ₹53,100–₹1,67,800. The subject-wise vacancies in the commission’s advertisement were:

The application period ran from 16 August to 4 September 2024, with the deadline at 5:00 PM, according to the APPSC advertisement. The word “today” in the original headline referred to that historical deadline, not a current opening.
Eligibility requirements in the advertisement
Education
Applicants were required to have a relevant master’s degree with at least 50% marks in Social Science, Humanities, Science, Mathematics or a language, plus either an M.Ed. with at least 50% marks or an M.A. (Education) with at least 50% marks. The advertisement cites NCTE norms for these qualifications.

Age and relaxation
The maximum age was 35 years as of 4 September 2024. The advertisement provided for relaxations under applicable Government of Arunachal Pradesh orders. It also described an additional five-year relaxation for qualifying departmental candidates with three years of continuous service in the same line or allied cadres, subject to the notice’s conditions about the relationship and usefulness of the experience. Eligibility depended on the official notice and applicable rules; the summary here does not determine an individual candidate’s eligibility.
Documents, application fee and upload details
The advertisement listed the following supporting documents and requirements:
- Self-attested master’s degree certificates and marksheets.
- A board-issued matriculation certificate as proof of age.
- An APST certificate for APST applicants; Aadhaar, PRC or EPIC for other applicants.
- A disability certificate for applicants claiming PwBD status.
- A recent colour passport photograph with a white background and a signature in black ink on white paper.
Original documents were to be produced at interview. The recruitment advertisement specified the requirements for this post; candidates should not assume that general OTR upload guidance overrides a recruitment-specific instruction. APPSC’s general OTR instructions called for a valid email address and mobile number and JPG/JPEG scans. They listed a 50–100 KB photograph, 20–50 KB signature and 40–300 KB testimonials.
The advertised application fee was ₹150 for APST applicants and ₹200 for other applicants. PwD applicants were exempt under Section 19 of the Arunachal Pradesh Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2018, as cited in the advertisement.
How applications were submitted during the closed window
For the 2024 recruitment, the process reported at the time involved OTR registration followed by a separate application for the post. APPSC’s OTR guidance makes the distinction explicit: “One Time Registration (OTR) is not an application for any post.” OTR created a registration and candidate dashboard; applicants still had to select Lecturer (DIET) and submit its application.
- Visit the APPSC website and open the Lecturer (DIET) 2024 application link.
- If not already registered, complete Step 1, One Time Registration, using a valid email address and mobile number. Existing OTR users could sign in with their existing credentials.
- Log in to the dashboard, select the advertised post and complete the application form.
- Pay the applicable fee, submit the completed application and save or print a copy for personal records.
APPSC instructed candidates to submit a single application. If a candidate submitted more than one, the highest Registration ID was to be considered, and that application had to be complete. The deadline for this process passed on 4 September 2024.

Selection method and what happened afterward
The original advertisement provided for selection through interview/viva voce. APPSC could also hold an objective or subjective recruitment test in the concerned subject if the number of applicants exceeded its desired ratio. The original notice gave 29 September 2024 as a tentative test date if a test was held.
A subsequent APPSC notice dated 15 October 2024 instructed applicants to enter their post and subject options through OTR by 3:00 PM on 18 October, and referred to a recruitment test on 25 October 2024. Those later dates were part of the 2024 process; they did not reopen applications. For a test, Science candidates could choose Biology, Physics or Chemistry, while Social Science candidates could choose Economics, Geography, History or Political Science.
