The company named SevenX Ventures, FunPlus / Xterio, and Moore Strategic Ventures as additional investors. The announcement described plans for a free-to-play game and a web3 version with rewards; it does not establish whether either is currently available.
What is AI Arena?
AI Arena is a player-versus-player fighting game in which players train AI-powered characters, which then fight autonomously in battles. ArenaX presented the game as a way to learn about AI through play, rather than requiring players to write code.
In the 2024 announcement, CEO Brandon Da Silva called it “an innovative way for people without advanced technical expertise to learn about AI – and to have fun doing so.” That is the company’s description of its educational aim, not independent evidence that playing the game produces a particular learning outcome.
Who invested, and what is the funding for?
ArenaX said the $6 million round was led by Framework Ventures, with SevenX Ventures, FunPlus / Xterio, and Moore Strategic Ventures also participating. The company said the proceeds would further develop AI Arena. Osler’s financing record lists January 12, 2024, as the round’s closing date; that is distinct from ArenaX’s January 9 public announcement.

Framework Ventures co-founder Michael Anderson said the team was building products that encourage consumers to learn to train AI through play. This was his rationale for the investment, not a measured finding about how players use the game.
What did ArenaX say about access and rewards?
ArenaX’s January 2024 release said AI Arena would be free to play, require no coding, and have a web3 version in which players could compete for rewards. It also said a beta launch on Arbitrum mainnet was planned for early 2024. Those were plans announced at the time, not confirmation of a launch, current access, or present reward terms. The announcement itself cannot establish the game’s status in 2026.

How does the $6 million round fit the company’s funding history?
AI Arena’s 2021 seed-round post said it had raised $5 million to accelerate development of the game, which it then described as Ethereum-native. That earlier financing is separate from the $6 million round announced in January 2024.
