Why did Arktos say it made the deal?
The report described a plan to consolidate the development team, intellectual property, and technology under the Hammerpoint brand. Arktos characterized Hammerpoint as its core developer for mid-core and hardcore games. Sergey Titov, identified in the report as Arktos Entertainment’s general partner, said: “Our goal is to create an online games factory.”
Titov also said the decision followed The War Z’s Alpha launch: “We made the decision soon after the launch of War Z’s Alpha to invest more into Hammerpoint and position it as our core developer of mid and hardcore games from this point forward.” These statements describe Arktos’s stated rationale and plans at the time; the report does not establish how fully they were carried out.
