Apple currently lists a 3.50% APY for Apple Savings, not 3.75%. The company dates that rate to September 23, 2026, and says it can change at any time. The available rate history also does not establish that 3.75% was an all-time low. Apple’s Savings disclosure is the place to check the rate before opening an account.
What is the current Apple Savings APY?
Apple’s product page lists a 3.50% APY effective September 23, 2026. The rate is variable; Apple says it may change at any time before or after an account is opened. That makes 3.50% a dated snapshot, not a guaranteed return for the life of an account. Apple’s official disclosure should be checked for the latest figure.

The 3.75% in the headline is not Apple’s current listed APY. It also should not be confused with the Federal Reserve’s target range of 3.75%–4.00% following its September 16, 2026 decision. The Fed does not set individual banks’ savings rates directly. The Associated Press’s September 2026 explanation provides that broader context, but does not establish why Apple chose its rate.
Does 3.75% qualify as an all-time low?
That historical claim is not established by the available reporting. MacRumors reported Apple Savings moving from 3.65% to 3.50% on April 23, 2026; its page also surfaced a September 22 report of a move from 3.40% to 3.50%. Those dated reports show that rates can move in either direction, but they are not a complete historical series. They cannot verify that 3.75% was an all-time low. MacRumors’ rate coverage is secondary reporting, while Apple’s own page is the source for its current advertised APY.

How Apple Savings works
Provider and eligibility
Apple Savings is provided by Goldman Sachs Bank USA, Salt Lake City Branch, Member FDIC; Apple states that it is not a bank. To apply, a customer must have an active Apple Card owner or co-owner account and meet Apple’s U.S. residency, age, identity-verification, device, and account requirements. Apple Support lists no account fees and no minimum balance requirement. Apple’s account and eligibility details explain the requirements.
Deposits, withdrawals, and access
The account is managed in the Wallet app. Customers can add money from a linked external bank account or Apple Cash. Savings funds cannot be spent directly through Apple Pay. Apple says withdrawals to an external bank typically take one to three business days, so the account is not a substitute for cash that must be available instantly. Transfer timing can matter as much as APY when deciding where to keep emergency savings. Apple Support describes transfers and access.

How interest is credited
Apple says interest compounds daily and is credited to the Savings account monthly. Because the APY is variable, the yield can change even while funds remain in the account. The APY is an annualized rate that reflects compounding; it is not a promise that the same rate will apply throughout the year. Apple’s interest explanation and rate disclosure provide the account’s terms.

Marcus by Goldman Sachs listed a 3.50% APY effective October 7, 2026, and its page said the rate may change. It also stated no fees or minimum deposit. This is a date-specific comparison, not a claim that either account is best or that their rates will remain equal. Marcus’s rate page is the source for its terms.

When comparing accounts, check more than the headline APY: confirm the effective date, whether a rate is variable or promotional, opening and ongoing balance requirements, fees, eligibility, deposit institution and insurance status, transfer timing, and any balance caps or conditions. Similar APYs on different dates do not guarantee similar future earnings.
