The December 17, 2024 article behind this headline was a company-submitted announcement, not a report of independent analyst consensus. It presented BlockDAG as a potential rival to established crypto assets, but its market-performance claims were not independently verified. Its descriptions of BlockDAG’s plans and Ethereum’s upgrade need to be read in their historical context, alongside what BlockDAG says has changed since.
What the headline actually establishes
The original article, attributed to David Bryan and labeled a company-submitted announcement, forecast that BlockDAG could outperform established crypto assets. Although its headline refers to “analysts,” it does not name independent analysts supporting that view. Treat its predictions and project-related figures as claims made in the announcement, not as a consensus forecast or independently verified financial data. Source: December 17, 2024 article.
The announcement said BlockDAG had raised more than $167 million and that early backers had seen a 2,240% increase. Those are historical figures asserted by the article; they were not independently confirmed. No independent historical or current market-price figure for BDAG or Render was established in the sources available for this review.
What BlockDAG’s December 2024 whitepaper described
BlockDAG’s official December 2024 whitepaper described a Proof-of-Work directed acyclic graph (DAG) design and an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) smart-contract platform. It also described Solidity and Go tooling and possible integration with Ethereum-based applications. The document presented bridges to Ethereum and other networks as future plans—not as features demonstrated to be delivered at the time. Read the December 2024 whitepaper.

The headline’s specific “Whitepaper V3” label cannot be conclusively matched to the accessible official December 2024 PDF. A later document called the Execution Whitepaper was reported as published on July 31, 2026, but it is not a substitute for identifying which version the 2024 article meant. What has changed since the announcement
BlockDAG’s September 14, 2026 keynote page says its mainnet, mining, apps and other ecosystem services are live. It states: “The BlockDAG Mainnet is live, carrying transactions, mining, smart contracts and every app built on top.” That is a claim on the project’s own page, not independent confirmation of network performance or adoption. BlockDAG keynote page, September 14, 2026.
The project’s development page marks Phase 1 and Phase 2 roadmap items complete and says mainnet block production was activated on February 10, 2026. Its roadmap page also says parallel block processing could enable approximately 2,000 transactions per second at launch. That throughput figure is a project claim; it is not an independently measured benchmark. BlockDAG development and roadmap pages.
BlockDAG’s project pages name X10, X30 and X100 hardware miners. Naming products on a project page does not, by itself, establish their availability, delivery, operating results or profitability. BlockDAG product information.

Ethereum’s update and Render’s climb were separate claims
Ethereum and Dencun
The 2024 announcement referred to Ethereum’s Dencun upgrade as targeting scaling and lower costs for Layer 2 networks. That description is part of the announcement’s historical framing; the cited material does not independently establish the broader market claims surrounding it.
Render and AI-related demand
The announcement linked Render’s rise to AI-related demand. The available sources do not independently validate that explanation or provide a suitable historical price figure. A claimed price move and a proposed reason for it should not be treated as proof of a lasting trend.
How to assess BlockDAG without confusing plans with evidence
For a personal-finance decision, separate the claims into distinct questions rather than treating a roadmap, token narrative and price prediction as one investment case:
- Design versus operation: The 2024 whitepaper described an architecture and future integrations. Later project pages say the mainnet and services are live, but independent performance and usage evidence was not established here.
- Issuer statements versus independent evidence: Roadmap completion, a throughput estimate, fundraising figures and promotional returns should remain attributed to the source making each claim.
- Compatibility versus adoption: EVM support and Solidity tooling describe developer-facing design. They do not, on their own, show how many developers or users have adopted the network.
- Technical claims versus investment outcomes: Neither a technical plan nor a reported price increase establishes future returns. Consider volatility and the possibility of loss before making a decision.
What this means for the headline today
The headline combines a 2024 promotional forecast, a project whitepaper reference, an Ethereum upgrade and a claim about Render’s market movement. The dated whitepaper supports describing BlockDAG’s proposed technical design; later project pages provide the project’s own account of subsequent launches. Neither source establishes independent analyst backing, independently measured BlockDAG throughput, adoption, or the market-performance explanation for Render.
