Founded by America Ferrera, Eva Longoria Bastón and eight other leaders, it set out to share lifestyle and civic content intended to help Latinas recognize and act on their power. The launch announcement and related coverage describe plans from 2020; they do not establish whether the initiative is operating today.
What She Se Puede set out to do
The initiative described itself as a community offering relatable articles, videos and photos celebrating Latina achievement. Its stated mission was to help Latinas realize and act on their own power, with content connecting everyday life to civic engagement.
The launch announcement identified these ten founders:
- Alex Martínez Kondracke
- America Ferrera
- Carmen Perez
- Christy Haubegger
- Elsa Collins
- Eva Longoria Bastón
- Jess Morales Rocketto
- Mónica Ramírez
- Olga Segura
- Stephanie Valencia
Ferrera described the initiative’s political context this way: “This election year, everyone is reminded of the Latino population numbers and how fast we are growing as a community. But let’s be clear: demography is not destiny.” Longoria said the community would offer information addressing Latinas’ needs and support efforts to move their communities and country forward. How the launch framed Latino voter participation
The August 2020 launch announcement reported that 32 million Latino voters were eligible in the United States that year. It also said Latina turnout rates were 14 to 20 percent lower than those of non-Hispanic Black or white women. Both figures were attributed to Stephanie Valencia, co-founder and president of Equis Labs and Equis Research. They are claims reported in the launch-era announcement, not current voter statistics or independently verified findings here. The launch announcement and CBS Los Angeles’ contemporaneous report also describe the turnout comparison.

The available launch and tour announcements document what She Se Puede said it was and what it planned in 2020. They do not verify its present-day operating status, current programming or partnerships. It is therefore more accurate to describe She Se Puede as a 2020-launched initiative than to assume it remains active.
