Amazon Now is expanding in India, but the available announcements do not confirm a nationwide 15-minute delivery promise. Amazon describes delivery “in minutes”; its CEO’s 2025 shareholder letter said thousands of items could arrive within 20 minutes. Coverage still depends on the customer’s exact address, so check the Amazon app for your pin code and order estimate.
What Amazon has—and has not—promised
Amazon Now is Amazon India’s service for ordering everyday products from nearby fulfillment infrastructure. In its 17 June 2026 announcement, Amazon described delivery “in minutes,” not a uniform 15-minute guarantee. The earlier wording in CEO Andy Jassy’s 2025 shareholder letter was delivery on thousands of items “within 20 minutes” in India and the UAE. That historical description is not evidence of a current exact estimate for every order.
So “15-minute delivery” is a useful shorthand for the quick-commerce category, but it is not a verified Amazon-wide service standard. Amazon’s announcements describe its own service and plans; they do not independently measure delivery performance.
How Amazon Now’s India rollout has changed
The figures below refer to different dates and kinds of claims: a company-reported operating footprint, an expansion target, and a later newspaper report. They should not be read as proof that every address in a listed city is covered.

| Date and source | What was reported | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy | More than 360 micro-fulfillment centers in India; thousands of items described as available within 20 minutes. | Company-reported figures from the letter, not current 2026 service metrics. |
| 17 June 2026, Amazon India | Amazon said it served over 50 million customers in more than 15 metro and non-metro cities and announced a plan to scale Amazon Now to over 300 cities. | The 300-city figure was a target, not a completed rollout. |
| June 2026, Amazon India | Amazon described an expansion plan involving 100 cities and more than 1,000 Micro-Fulfillment Centers, plus over 100 planned Urban Fulfillment Centers. | These are planned network additions, not evidence all facilities were already open. |
| 1 October 2026, Business Standard | Business Standard reported Amazon Now had expanded to over 120 cities. | A dated report of city-level reach; it does not establish coverage at a particular address. |
Amazon’s June announcement named Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Amritsar, and Kochi among cities served at that time. The October Business Standard report named additions including Abohar, Jalandhar, Ambala, Mangalore, Manipal, Visakhapatnam, Changanassery, Bhubaneswar, and Karwar. Because rollout status changes, use the app rather than a city list to determine whether delivery is available where you live.
What the fulfillment expansion is meant to do
Amazon says its Urban Fulfillment Centers will supplement a network of Micro-Fulfillment Centers, placing more inventory closer to customers while broadening selection. In June 2026, the company said it planned more than 100 Urban Fulfillment Centers and described them as bringing four times the selection over thousands of essentials already offered. The expanded assortment may include apparel, electronics, jewellery, shoes, luggage, watches, wireless products, musical instruments, furniture, small appliances, baby products, pet supplies, and healthcare supplements.

Amazon Now’s existing everyday assortment is described as tens of thousands of items, with categories such as groceries, fruits and vegetables, frozen food, personal care, fashion and beauty, small appliances, and home and kitchen products. These are company descriptions of its assortment plans and categories; they do not mean every item is available for rapid delivery in every location.
Amazon also announced an investment of over ₹2,800 crore (approximately US$300 million) to strengthen operations and associate safety, health, and financial well-being. Its June 2026 announcement included plans for more than 100 Urban Fulfillment Centers and described a network expansion involving more than 1,000 Micro-Fulfillment Centers. It also said the Sammaan program and Ashray rest centers were part of associate welfare efforts, with a plan to expand Ashray to 250 centers in 2026.

Do you need Prime, and what does it cost?
Amazon’s 1 May 2026 Prime Day announcement said Prime members in select Indian cities get delivery within minutes on Amazon Now. It listed these annual membership prices at the time:

Those are dated prices from Amazon’s announcement, not a guarantee of today’s price or of Amazon Now eligibility in every city. The available announcement does not establish that Prime is required for every Amazon Now order, nor does it give one universal delivery fee or order minimum. Check the current membership terms and the order screen for your location before paying.

How to check Amazon Now delivery in your city
- Set your delivery address or pin code in the Amazon India app. City-level availability does not confirm that your neighborhood is served.
- Look for Amazon Now and the items available for rapid delivery. The assortment and eligible selection may vary by address.
- Review the estimate and charges shown at checkout. Treat the estimate displayed for your order as more relevant than a general “15-minute” claim.
- Check Prime and other eligibility details in the app. Confirm any membership requirement, delivery charge, or minimum order for that specific order.
What Amazon’s growth figures say—and what they do not
In its 2025 shareholder letter, Amazon said India orders on Amazon Now were increasing 25% month over month and that Prime members tripled their shopping frequency after adopting the service. These are company-reported claims tied to the letter’s reporting period, not independent measurements or current 2026 growth rates. Amazon Country Manager for India Samir Kumar also said in the June 2026 announcement that Amazon Now orders had doubled every quarter since launch; that is Amazon’s characterization of its own business, not an independently verified comparison.
Together, the announcements and later city-count report point to a rapidly expanding service and a larger planned fulfillment network. They do not establish that Amazon has completed its 300-city target, that all listed cities have full coverage, or that every order will arrive in 15 or 20 minutes.
