As of October 7, 2026, two analyst-forecast aggregators put Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) near a $329–$332 average 12-month price target, but their estimates vary widely and are not promises of a future share price. StockAnalysis reported a $331.53 mean target from 59 analysts, with a $230–$405 range; ChartMill reported a $329.27 average across 74 recommendations, with a $209.07–$425.25 range. The difference reflects distinct snapshots and analyst sets, so neither figure should be treated as a guaranteed return.
What is the Amazon stock forecast?
There is no single official Amazon stock forecast. Analyst targets are estimates of where a stock might trade over a stated horizon; they are not Amazon guidance, a guarantee, or an independent valuation. The two October 7, 2026 snapshots below show both the rough consensus and the uncertainty around it.
| Provider and date | Target horizon and statistic | Analyst set | Target range | Share price shown |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| StockAnalysis, October 7, 2026 | 12-month mean: $331.53 | 59 analysts polled by S&P Global | $230–$405 | $259.70 |
| ChartMill, October 7, 2026 | Average target: $329.27; the page does not specify a target horizon | 74 recommendations | $209.07–$425.25 | $256.04 |
StockAnalysis attributes its figures to S&P Global Market Intelligence and TipRanks. The providers show different share prices, analyst counts, ranges, and target statistics; their results are snapshots, not interchangeable measurements. See StockAnalysis’s AMZN forecast page and ChartMill’s analyst-ratings page for their respective data.
Using the displayed prices, the averages sit about 27.7% above StockAnalysis’s $259.70 price and 28.6% above ChartMill’s $256.04 price. Those are arithmetic comparisons of each provider’s same-day snapshot, not forecasts of realized returns. The wide low-to-high ranges also show why an average should not be read as a likely outcome for every investor.

What could support Amazon’s business outlook?
AWS profitability
Amazon reported $16.6 billion in AWS segment operating income for the second quarter of 2026, compared with $10.2 billion in the second quarter of 2025. That year-over-year increase is relevant to the company’s operating picture, but one segment’s income figure does not by itself establish a fair share price or predict future results. The figures are in Amazon’s second-quarter 2026 results.
Near-term sales guidance
On July 30, 2026, Amazon guided to third-quarter 2026 net sales of $197 billion to $202 billion, equivalent to 9%–12% year-over-year growth. The company said growth excluding Prime Day timing effects would be nearly 400 basis points higher and that its guidance anticipated an approximately 80-basis-point unfavorable foreign-exchange impact. This was company guidance for a quarter that had not yet been reported in the cited materials; it is not a full-year forecast or a share-price target. See the Q2 results release and Amazon’s Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

Why could AMZN differ from analyst targets?
Amazon cautions in its Form 10-Q that “Our results are inherently unpredictable and may be materially affected by many factors.” The filing identifies risks and uncertainties that can affect business results and, in turn, how investors value the shares:
- Economic and policy conditions: global economic and geopolitical conditions, tariffs and trade policies, inflation, interest rates, foreign-exchange rates, and energy prices.
- Demand and supply: customer demand and spending, resource and supply volatility—including memory chips—and regional labor constraints.
- Technology and competition: changes in internet, online-commerce, cloud-service, and emerging-technology growth, as well as competition.
- Execution and investment: investment timing, product and service mix, international growth, fulfillment and data-center optimization, and litigation or regulatory matters.
These are company-disclosed uncertainties, not predictions that any particular risk will occur. Actual results may differ materially from forward-looking statements, and analysts may revise their assumptions as new information arrives.

How to use a stock forecast responsibly
- Check the date and horizon. A target is meaningful only with its observation date and forecast period. The StockAnalysis figure above is explicitly a 12-month mean; the cited ChartMill page’s displayed average does not state its horizon.
- Compare the range, not just the average. The low and high estimates communicate disagreement that a single consensus number hides. A target is an analyst estimate, not a recommended purchase price.
- Separate operating facts from valuation. AWS income and quarterly sales guidance describe business performance or management expectations; neither converts directly into a share-price forecast without assumptions about future results and valuation.
- Recheck current information before acting. Prices, analyst coverage, targets, and company results change. The October 7, 2026 targets and July 30 guidance describe dated snapshots, not current live quotes or subsequent results.
