But the deliveries were not three above Boeing’s estimate: Allegiant’s CFO said in February 2025 that Boeing expected to deliver 12 that year. The distinction matters because a forecast, a physical delivery and an aircraft entering service are different measures.
How many Boeing 737 MAX aircraft did Allegiant receive in 2025?
Allegiant reported 12 Boeing 737 MAX deliveries during calendar year 2025. Its Form 10-K lists four 737-8200 aircraft in service at December 31, 2024, and 16 at December 31, 2025. Why were the 12 deliveries described as three more than planned?
On Allegiant’s February 4, 2025 earnings call, CFO Robert Neal said the airline was anticipating nine MAX deliveries for the year. He also said Boeing’s then-current estimate was 12. The actual 12 therefore exceeded Allegiant’s conservative planning assumption by three, while matching the Boeing estimate cited at the time.

Neal said Allegiant was planning conservatively to keep flight-crew hiring better aligned with aircraft available to operate, particularly for the summer peak. That explains the difference between Allegiant’s nine-aircraft planning assumption and Boeing’s 12-aircraft estimate; it does not establish that the airline had no prior expectation of the additional deliveries. How did Allegiant’s year-end fleet plan change?
Allegiant’s published year-end fleet projections also changed as 2025 progressed. Its February plan forecast 13 Boeing 737-8200 aircraft in service at year-end; its third-quarter update projected 16. The Form 10-K later reported 16 in service at December 31. These are snapshots of the company’s plan for the in-service fleet, not delivery totals.

Both company releases are available from Allegiant’s financial results archive. The final count matched the later projection, but that does not make the projection itself a delivery record.

What happened after the 2025 deliveries?
Allegiant reported 19 Boeing 737 MAX 8200 aircraft in passenger service on June 30, 2026, in its second-quarter Form 10-Q. That is a later, dated operating-fleet count—not a count of aircraft delivered during 2026. Allegiant’s 2026 Form 10-Q

The 2025 Form 10-K describes an agreement for 50 firm Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, with options for up to 80 more. As of December 31, 2025, 34 firm aircraft remained, with deliveries then expected through 2028. Allegiant cautioned that Boeing production and regulatory approvals could affect delivery timing, planned growth and costs. The schedule is therefore a company expectation, not a guarantee. Allegiant says the MAX order supports its low-cost strategy, citing expected fuel savings and operational reliability.
