Recent entertainment coverage puts Aamir Khan’s estimated net worth at about ₹1,862 crore, or more than ₹1,800 crore. That figure is a media estimate, not a verified statement of his assets and debts: the reports do not show a transparent calculation or audited personal financial records.
What is Aamir Khan’s estimated net worth?
ET Now reported ₹1,862 crore in July 2026, while The Times of India reported a figure above ₹1,800 crore that same month. These are similar estimates circulating in entertainment coverage, not independent confirmations of Khan’s underlying wealth. Neither reviewed article explains a verifiable method for arriving at the total.
ET Now’s July 5, 2026 estimate and The Times of India’s July 5, 2026 estimate should therefore be read as attributed claims, not established facts about his personal balance sheet.
Why Forbes’s $12.5 million figure is different
Forbes estimated Khan’s earnings at $12.5 million for its 2017 list of Bollywood’s highest-paid actors, placing him fourth. Forbes said that payday came almost entirely from his share of the profits from Dangal. That is a historical estimate of earnings for a period—not a current estimate of his accumulated net worth. It should not be added to the 2026 rupee estimates.

Forbes’s 2017 estimate measures a different thing and comes from a different year; comparing it directly with a current net-worth claim would be misleading.
How Khan says he earns from films
In remarks reported by The Indian Express in February 2025, Khan said he had not taken a salary for his films for about 20 years and instead earned through profit sharing. He described the arrangement this way: “If my film runs, I earn, and if the film doesn’t run, I don’t earn.” This explains how some film compensation may depend on a project’s performance; it does not establish his total income or wealth.

The Indian Express report attributes the remarks to Khan at an ABP live event. They are his description of his compensation model, not audited financial data.
What production and property claims can—and cannot—tell you
In a 2010 Economic Times interview, Khan described Aamir Khan Films as an independent production house. He said a project could be funded with his own investment or with a partner, and described choosing films based on passion while seeking economic viability. The interview does not establish the company’s valuation or Khan’s current ownership share.

A production company, property holdings, and film income may all be relevant context; none can be safely combined into a confirmed personal net-worth figure from the cited material.
The Economic Times interview offers context about how Khan described his production work, not a current financial statement.

How to interpret the figures
- ₹1,862 crore: ET Now’s 2026 reported net-worth estimate; no transparent calculation is provided in the reviewed article.
- More than ₹1,800 crore: The Times of India’s 2026 reported estimate; it likewise does not provide a transparent calculation.
- $12.5 million: Forbes’s 2017 estimate of earnings for a period, largely tied to Dangal profit sharing—not net worth.
The available figures answer different questions and carry different limitations. As of the July 2026 coverage, the rupee totals are widely repeated media estimates, while the reviewed sources do not establish Khan’s current assets minus liabilities through public financial records.
