Amazon advertises savings of up to 15%, but that is a promotional maximum—not a guaranteed discount or typical saving. Check the price and offer displayed for each item before subscribing, and review the upcoming order before it ships.
What Amazon Subscribe & Save does
Subscribe & Save is an automatic reorder option for products that show an applicable offer. You choose how often an eligible product is delivered, so you do not have to place each repeat order manually. Amazon describes the consumer service as covering a wide range of everyday essentials.
Eligibility and the displayed offer determine whether a particular item qualifies and what discount applies. Amazon’s consumer information page advertises savings of up to 15%; that figure is a maximum claim, not an independently measured average or a promise that every item will be discounted by 15%. See Amazon’s Subscribe & Save overview.
How to set up a subscription
Amazon’s consumer overview confirms that customers set automatic reorders at a chosen frequency, but it does not establish a current screen-by-screen setup path. In practice, look for the Subscribe & Save offer on an eligible product and review the available schedule and terms shown in your account before placing the subscription. The displayed product offer and account interface are the best guides to what is currently available for that item.

How to judge whether it saves you money
Compare the price and discount displayed for the subscription with the price you would otherwise pay, and consider whether the delivery schedule fits your actual use. A discount does not necessarily make a subscription worthwhile if the item’s price changes or a delivery arrives before you need it.
- Check that the product displays a Subscribe & Save offer and note the discount shown for that item.
- Choose a delivery frequency and quantity that match how quickly you use the product.
- Before each shipment, review the upcoming price and whether you still want that quantity.
- Compare the subscription’s current price with alternatives available to you rather than assuming the advertised maximum is your actual saving.
Reviewing, skipping or cancelling deliveries
Controls and terms can differ by account type. Amazon Business says customers can manage subscriptions to skip or cancel deliveries, and its terms say recurring orders continue until cancelled. Business terms also state that details—including price, discount, taxes, availability, shipping charges and seller—may change. Amazon says Business customers receive advance notice of the next delivery price and can make changes or cancel by the stated update deadline. These are Business-specific terms; check the controls and notices in your own account for consumer subscriptions. Amazon Business: Subscribe & Save and Amazon Business Subscribe & Save terms.

Amazon Business is a separate case
Amazon Business describes its setup as selecting eligible products, choosing a quantity and recurring schedule, and creating a subscription. Its marketing page, published June 15, 2026, advertises savings of up to 15% on orders of five or more. That claim applies to Amazon Business and should not be treated as a consumer-account threshold or discount formula. Business customers can also receive reminder emails with items, price and applicable discounts before a delivery. Read Amazon Business’s Subscribe & Save information.
Seller-side announcements about how discounts may be funded or configured do not establish the current discount formula for consumer subscriptions. For either account type, rely on the offer and price presented for the order you are considering.
