The recruitment notice reported 235 vacancies. The January 2024 application and preliminary schedule is why coverage also called it “CCE 2024”; the APSC advertisement itself was for the 2023 examination cycle.
What happened to the APSC CCE application window?
The application period ran from 17 January to 6 February 2024, closing at 5:00 p.m. The deadline has passed, so this announcement is not an open application opportunity. Scroll reported those dates in its 17 January 2024 registration report; its 16 January 2024 notice coverage also reported the opening and closing dates.
The primary notice was APSC Advertisement No. 02/2024, titled “Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2023,” and dated 12 January 2024. How many vacancies were reported, and for which posts?
Scroll reported 235 vacancies across the following services and posts. The breakdown below reproduces the job-title wording and counts in that report; it does not provide category-wise reservation allocations.

Assistant Accounts Officer had the largest reported allocation, with 107 posts. The Civil Service and Police Service (Junior Grade) allocations were 45 and 35, respectively. These are vacancy counts from Scroll’s 2024 coverage; consult the official advertisement for authoritative spellings and any detailed distribution by category.
What eligibility did the 2024 coverage report?
Scroll described the basic age requirement as 21 to 38 years as of 1 January 2023, with upper-age relaxation for reserved categories. It also reported that candidates needed a degree from a university established under Indian law, or an equivalent qualification declared by government. The accessible report does not set out all category-specific conditions or the complete eligibility rules. Candidates assessing the historical notice should use Advertisement No. 02/2024 for the precise wording and requirements.

What were the reported application fees?
The following are historical fees reported for the 2024 application, not current charges. Scroll’s figures include a Rs. 40 CSC-SPV processing charge and Rs. 7.20 tax:

How did the online application process work?
The contemporary report described an online process on the APSC website. Its instructions are historical; they do not mean the application portal remains open.
- Visit the APSC website and find “Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2023” under Latest Advertisements.
- Select “Apply Here,” then register or log in.
- Complete the application form and upload the required documents.
- Pay the applicable fee.
- Download and print the submitted application form for your records.
What exam dates were announced?
Scroll reported that the preliminary examination was tentatively scheduled for 17 March 2024 and the main examination for June or July 2024. Those were tentative dates in the contemporary report; they do not establish when either examination was ultimately held.
