The notice described a two-stage process: NORCET Preliminary followed by NORCET Main. The Preliminary stage was qualifying and did not determine final merit or rank. For Stage I, the notice specified 100 multiple-choice questions—80 based on the nursing-course syllabus and 20 in general knowledge and aptitude—with 90 minutes to complete the test and one-third negative marking for wrong answers.
