The AFA Alaska Negotiating Committee reported that 90.8% of eligible voters participated—a separate measure from the approval rate. The agreement includes immediate wage increases, boarding and retroactive pay, and higher compensation in specified reassignment, reserve, and day-off situations.
Did Alaska Airlines flight attendants ratify a new contract?
Yes. On February 28, 2025, flight attendants represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA) ratified a three-year agreement with Alaska Airlines, Inc. The company reported that more than 90% of flight attendants voted and that 95% approved the contract. The union reported the same 95% approval figure; its negotiating committee put participation at 90.8% of eligible voters. Alaska Airlines’ announcement, AFA-CWA’s announcement and the negotiating committee update distinguish the participation and approval figures.
The agreement covers Alaska Airlines flight attendants, represented by AFA-CWA under the Railway Labor Act. The parties to the collective bargaining agreement are Alaska Airlines, Inc. and AFA-CWA. Alaska described the covered group as more than 6,900 flight attendants; AFA rounded the figure to 7,000. The airline’s announcement and the union’s release give those rounded descriptions, not competing exact headcounts.
What does the contract change for pay?
Immediate wage increases and future raises
AFA-CWA said the pay scales increased by 18.6% to 28.3% on the day the agreement was signed. The size of the increase varies across the pay scale; it is not a single raise applying identically to every flight attendant. The union also highlighted future annual raises. Its contract announcement describes the immediate increases and annual raises.

Boarding, retroactive and ratification pay
The union highlighted boarding pay and retroactive pay among the agreement’s pay gains. Alaska’s summary also lists a ratification payment. These are distinct items: the immediate pay-scale increases are not the same thing as a ratification payment or compensation tied to boarding. The parties’ public summaries do not provide the payment amounts in the announcements cited here. See AFA-CWA’s summary and Alaska’s summary.
When does the agreement provide enhanced pay?
AFA-CWA highlighted several pay protections for specific work situations. They are not general multipliers for every trip or duty period:

AFA-CWA listed a sixth vacation week at 25 years of service without the stated 960-hour requirement, along with an increased sick-leave bank and a cash-out option. Alaska characterized the agreement as adding scheduling enhancements, greater flexibility and better benefits, alongside pay improvements. How should the 2025 agreement be distinguished from later Alaska-Hawaiian bargaining?
The February 2025 ratification was an agreement for Alaska Airlines flight attendants. It is not the same event as the later joint Alaska-Hawaiian bargaining process. In a June 5, 2026 update, AFA Alaska said the joint committee had reached a tentative agreement on temporary duty assignments while vacation and staffing discussions continued and significant differences remained on sick leave. The update described protections for temporary duty assignments, including around-the-clock per diem, hotel stays, space-positive travel and improved expense reimbursement. Those were developments in the later joint negotiations, not terms to attribute to the February 2025 ratification. See AFA Alaska’s June 5, 2026 update.
The current agreement PDF is titled 2025–2028 and is hosted by AFA Alaska. Its file path identifies a March 11, 2026 final PDF, while its letters of agreement include February 28, 2025 effective dates. The contemporaneous announcements establish the ratification date and reported vote; the contract provides the agreement text.
