Airbus delivered 793 commercial aircraft in 2025, three more than its revised target of around 790. It cleared that December target narrowly—but did not meet its earlier goal of around 820 reported at the time. Airbus attributed the target revision to a supplier quality issue affecting A320 Family fuselage panels.
How many aircraft did Airbus deliver in 2025?
Airbus reported 793 commercial aircraft deliveries to 91 customers worldwide in 2025, a 4% increase from 766 in 2024. The company announced the figures on 12 January 2026.
| Aircraft family | 2025 deliveries |
|---|---|
| A220 | 93 |
| A320 Family | 607 |
| A330 | 36 |
| A350 | 57 |
| Total | 793 |
These are commercial-aircraft deliveries, not orders or production starts. Airbus’s 2025 delivery announcement provides the totals and family breakdown.
Did Airbus meet its 2025 delivery target?
It exceeded the revised target announced on 3 December 2025: the actual 793 deliveries were three above the company’s goal of around 790. That was a narrow clearance, not a meeting of the earlier goal of around 820 cited in contemporaneous coverage. Airbus’s December release stated the revised target, rather than restating the previous one.

| Milestone | Target or result | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Earlier 2025 goal | Around 820 | Not met; this was the earlier company goal reported in contemporaneous coverage. |
| Revised goal, 3 December 2025 | Around 790 | Airbus lowered its delivery target. |
| 2025 actual, announced 12 January 2026 | 793 | Three above the revised target. |
The comparison is approximate because Airbus described its revised goal as “around 790,” not as an exact threshold. The result is best described as narrowly above the revised target, not as exceeding the original goal. Airbus’s 3 December target update said financial guidance remained unchanged when it made the revision.
Why did Airbus lower the target?
Airbus said a supplier quality issue involving fuselage panels affected A320 Family delivery flow. The company did not quantify how many aircraft were delayed, identify the supplier in the cited release, or establish that this issue alone explains the full difference between the former and revised targets.

At its 2026 annual press conference, Airbus management said the panel issue put pressure on delivery capability in a year already weighted toward late-year deliveries. Management also described wider supply-chain constraints as creating a disconnect between production and deliveries. That context helps explain why the final push mattered, but the company’s public statements do not assign a specific number of lost deliveries to either factor. See Airbus’s 2026 annual press conference materials.
How do orders and backlog compare with deliveries?
Airbus reported 1,000 gross commercial-aircraft orders and 889 net orders for 2025. Net orders account for cancellations; neither figure means those aircraft were delivered during the year. At year-end, the commercial-aircraft backlog stood at a record 8,754 aircraft—a measure of outstanding orders, not 2025 deliveries.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is Airbus’s delivery outlook for 2026?
In its 19 February 2026 FY2025 results release, Airbus guided for around 870 commercial-aircraft deliveries in 2026, subject to the assumptions underlying that guidance. This is a forward-looking target, not part of the 2025 result, and it does not change the fact that Airbus finished 2025 three aircraft above its revised goal.
