Lufthansa’s published A350-900 cabin maps include a 48-seat business-class configuration, matching Airbus’s 48-seat reference layout; SWISS lists 45 seats. But this is a sourced sample, not a complete worldwide ranking—and more seats in a cabin do not mean more room for each passenger. To compare space, look at published seat dimensions, bed length, layout and aisle access, then verify the configuration assigned to your flight.
Which A350-900 business cabins have the most seats?
In the configurations covered here, Lufthansa’s largest published A350-900 business cabin has 48 seats. That ties Airbus’s manufacturer reference configuration, which also specifies 48 business seats. SWISS lists 45. Lufthansa also publishes smaller A350-900 configurations, so the airline name alone does not identify the cabin you will get.
The table is a selected comparison of official airline and Airbus information, not a census of every A350-900 operator. Counts describe a particular layout, not personal space.

Why seat count is not a measure of passenger space
Seat count tells you how many business-class places fit in a cabin. It does not tell you how much room one passenger has. A useful comparison separates the cabin’s capacity from the dimensions and features of each seat.

- Pitch: A published spacing figure, but not necessarily the usable legroom or length of the sleeping surface. Airbus’s 60-inch figure is for its reference layout, not every airline’s A350-900.
- Width: Compare only with the measurement method in view. Air India specifies 21.1 inches between the inner sides of the armrests; China Southern lists 23 inches between armrests. The airlines’ descriptions may not use identical measurement conventions.
- Bed length and recline: These describe sleeping space more directly than cabin seat count. Air India publishes a 79-inch flat-bed length; China Southern describes its seat as reclining 180 degrees.
- Layout and access: A 1-2-1 arrangement or direct aisle access tells you how seats are arranged and whether passengers can reach the aisle without stepping over a neighbor. Neither feature, by itself, establishes a wider or longer seat.
Airline and aircraft variants can change the answer
Lufthansa: three published A350-900 maps
Lufthansa’s maps show 48 business seats in one configuration, 38 in the Allegris cabin and 30 in another. The 48-seat figure therefore applies to a particular published layout, not every Lufthansa A350-900. Lufthansa notes that cabin configurations can vary by flight connection.
THAI: two Royal Silk seat counts
THAI lists A350-900 configurations with 30 and 33 Royal Silk seats. The variants also have different listed seat models and measurements, so a single airline-level number or specification would blur meaningful differences.

Airbus’s SWISS figure describes the airline’s first A350-900 and its four-class SWISS Senses configuration. Its KLM and EGYPTAIR announcements describe their respective first A350-900 aircraft. Emirates’s 32-seat announcement dates to 2024; check whether that aircraft is assigned to the flight you are considering.

How to check the cabin for your flight
- Open the airline’s seat map for the specific flight. Do not rely on a general A350-900 fleet page when the airline publishes several layouts.
- Check the aircraft assignment and connection. Lufthansa explicitly notes that its A350-900 cabin can vary by flight connection.
- Recheck close to departure. Aircraft and cabin assignments can change; use the current seat map rather than assuming the configuration shown when you first booked will remain in place.
- Compare the measures that matter to you. For sleeping, look for bed length and lie-flat details; for a daytime flight, seat width, pitch, and aisle access may matter more. Read each figure with its stated measurement definition.
