Air Canada announced its Summer 2026 international schedule in two stages: a September 10, 2025 announcement focused on Europe and Asia, followed by a November 25 expansion that added four European destinations and the seasonal return of Montréal–Tel Aviv. The plans included new seasonal routes, returning nonstops, added Prague flights and year-round service changes. Air Canada said schedules were subject to change, so these announcements do not establish current availability or confirm that every flight operated as planned.

Routes in Air Canada’s September 2025 announcement

The September 10 announcement covered services planned from Montréal, Toronto and Vancouver. The dates and frequencies below refer to announced outbound schedules; return flights may have different operating days or date ranges.

Canadian origin Destination Announced service Outbound dates and frequency
Montréal (YUL) Catania, Sicily (CTA) New seasonal route June 4–October 22, 2026; three flights weekly
Montréal (YUL) Palma de Mallorca (PMI) New seasonal route; announced the day before the release June 17–October 23, 2026; four flights weekly
Toronto (YYZ) Budapest (BUD) Returning nonstop route June 5–October 23, 2026; four flights weekly
Toronto (YYZ) Shanghai (PVG) Returning nonstop route, planned year-round Starting June 3, 2026; four flights weekly at launch

Vancouver (YVR) Bangkok (BKK) Seasonal service replaced by year-round service Three departures weekly; the release did not state a start date

Air Canada described the Shanghai service as starting June 3 and year-round, with four weekly outbound flights at launch. The release listed three weekly Vancouver departures to Bangkok and said the route would operate year-round. Air Canada did not provide peak-period dates for the additional Prague flight in the announcement text.

Air Canada’s September 10, 2025 announcement gives the planned service details and notes that schedules may change.

How to read the route announcements

  • New destinations: Montréal gained planned seasonal service to Catania, Palma de Mallorca, Berlin and Nantes; Halifax to Brussels; and Toronto to Ponta Delgada.
  • Returning or resuming service: Toronto–Budapest and Toronto–Shanghai were announced as returning nonstop routes, while Montréal–Tel Aviv was set to resume seasonally.
  • More flights, not a new destination: Toronto–Prague was scheduled to receive one extra peak-period flight, for four weekly flights total.
  • Service-pattern change: Vancouver–Bangkok was planned to move from seasonal to year-round service.

The announcements should not be read as confirmation of present-day inventory, fares or unchanged operations. Check Air Canada’s current schedule and booking channels for the status of a specific travel date.

Air Canada’s network-wide Summer 2026 forecast

In its November release, Air Canada said it expected to connect Canada to more than 126 global destinations and offer up to 155,000 weekly seats across the Atlantic, Pacific and South America in Summer 2026. Those are airline forecasts for the wider network, not seat counts or destination totals for the routes listed above, and they are not measured operating results.
