The FCA added Brokerz to its Warning List on 26 February 2019. The regulator described it as an “Unauthorised firm – Brokerz” and said it believed the business “may be providing financial services or products in the UK without” FCA authorisation.

That is a regulatory warning, not a court judgment that every customer was defrauded. But it is a serious indication that Brokerz did not have the FCA permission needed to target UK consumers with the relevant financial services.

What the FCA warning says

The FCA warning page, which shows “Last updated: 26/02/2019”, says Brokerz was not authorised by the FCA and was targeting people in the UK. The entry appeared under the regulator’s Warning List of unauthorised firms.

The warning does not say that Brokerz previously held an FCA licence and later lost it. It says the firm was not authorised. Nor does the FCA page formally call Brokerz a scam or quantify losses suffered by customers.

Details recorded by the FCA

Field Details
Name Brokerz
Address Suite 305, Griffith Corporate Centre, Beachmont, PO Box 1510, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Kingstown
Additional entity/address All MEdia EOOD, Sofia, Bulgaria
Telephone 2080683493, 2080683493
Websites www.brokerz.com and www.brokerz.co

The spelling and capitalisation of “All MEdia EOOD”, and the duplicated telephone number, reproduce the details displayed on the FCA warning page.

What this means for customers

The FCA said people dealing with Brokerz would not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service or protection from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) on the basis of dealing with this unauthorised firm.

That does not mean FSCS protection covers every investment or loss at every authorised firm. Even where a business is authorised, protection depends on the product, service and permissions involved. Authorisation is also not a guarantee that an investment will make money.

A later payment-protection regime does not change the 2019 warning. The FCA’s current general guidance notes that some consumers may have protections for payments made to a scam account on or after 7 October 2024 under rules introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator. Those rules do not make Brokerz authorised and do not retrospectively give the firm FCA protection.

Other regulators also warned about Brokerz-related names

The FCA was not the only regulator to publish a warning connected with Brokerz:

  • Austria: the Financial Market Authority published a warning against Brokerz Ltd on 24 January 2019. It listed the same St. Vincent and the Grenadines address, All Media EOOD, the telephone number and brokerz.com. The notice said the provider was not entitled to conduct certain licensable banking transactions in Austria, including specified futures and options business.
  • Spain: the CNMV issued a warning dated 29 April 2019 naming brokerz.com, BROKERZ LTD and ALL MEDIA EOOD as unauthorised to provide the investment and related services described in its notice.
  • Bulgaria: the Financial Supervision Commission reported complaints concerning alleged fraud through brokerz.com and related entities, including Brokerz Ltd and All Media EOOD. It said the platform had not been licensed by the Bulgarian FSC.

These notices are separate regulatory publications. They add context, but they should not be turned into a claim that a court has made a final fraud finding against every named entity or that every customer had the same experience.

Is Brokerz still operating?

A current check of https://www.brokerz.com/ redirects to an Afternic domain-sales page stating that Brokerz.com is for sale, rather than to an operating brokerage website.

That is the current observed status of the domain. It is not a new FCA ruling about the firm’s legal status, and a domain being unavailable does not by itself resolve what happened to historic customer accounts or payments.

How to check the FCA warning yourself

  1. Go to the FCA website.
  2. Choose Consumers, then FCA Warning List.
  3. Use the field labelled “Search for names of firms”.
  4. Enter Brokerz and select Search. You can also filter the list by the first letter of the firm name.
  5. Open the Brokerz entry and compare the name, websites, telephone number and addresses with any documents or messages you received.

Do not rely only on the Warning List. The FCA says a firm may be unauthorised or fraudulent even if it does not appear there: businesses can change names, and the regulator may not yet know about them.

Use the FCA’s Financial Services Register separately to check whether a business is authorised or registered and whether it has permission for the particular service it is offering. A similar name is not enough. Check the exact legal entity and the relevant permission.

If you sent money to Brokerz

Keep copies of account statements, payment confirmations, emails, chat messages, contracts, screenshots and the details of the website or telephone numbers used. Contact the bank, card provider or payment service involved as soon as possible and explain that the payment concerns a firm identified by the FCA as unauthorised. Ask what recovery or dispute process applies to the payment method.

Be cautious of anyone who contacts you promising to recover the money for an upfront fee. A warning about Brokerz does not mean that every later “recovery agent” is genuine. Do not send additional funds or identity documents until you have independently checked who is asking and why.

Why the date matters

The official FCA date is 26 February 2019. Articles republished or updated years later can make the event appear to have happened in 2023 or another later year. That does not change the date shown on the FCA’s warning entry.

The most accurate description is therefore: the FCA added Brokerz to its Warning List of unauthorised firms on 26 February 2019. “Blacklisted” is informal shorthand, and “the FCA declared Brokerz a scam” goes beyond the wording of the official notice.

FAQ

Did the FCA declare Brokerz a scam?

No. The FCA identified Brokerz as an unauthorised firm and said it believed the business may have been providing financial services or products in the UK without authorisation. The warning page does not use “scam” as a formal court finding and does not determine the outcome of every customer’s account.

When was Brokerz added to the FCA Warning List?

The FCA added Brokerz on 26 February 2019. The warning page displays “Last updated: 26/02/2019.”

Was Brokerz previously FCA-authorised?

The warning says Brokerz was not authorised by the FCA. It does not say that Brokerz previously held an FCA licence or that the FCA revoked one.

Can Brokerz customers claim through the FSCS or Financial Ombudsman Service?

The FCA said customers dealing with Brokerz would not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service or FSCS protection on the basis of dealing with this unauthorised firm. Protection at an authorised business also depends on the investment, service and permissions involved; it is not automatic for every product or loss.

Does Brokerz.com still operate?

A current check of brokerz.com redirects to an Afternic page saying the domain is for sale. That is an observation about the domain’s current status, not a separate FCA determination about the firm or historic customer funds.

How can I check whether a financial firm is authorised?

Search the exact firm name on the FCA Financial Services Register and check that the firm has permission for the specific service being offered. Also search the FCA Warning List through Consumers → FCA Warning List → Search for names of firms. A firm not appearing on the Warning List is not automatically safe.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Brokerz was added to the FCA’s Warning List on 26 February 2019 as an unauthorised firm targeting people in the UK. The FCA warning means customers should not assume access to the Financial Ombudsman Service or FSCS protection. It does not, by itself, amount to a court finding that every customer was scammed or that every loss is established.

If you are reviewing an old Brokerz payment, preserve the evidence, contact the payment provider promptly and verify any recovery approach independently. For future investments, check both the FCA Register and the Warning List—and confirm the exact permissions, not just the firm’s name.
