AJet is Turkish Airlines’ wholly owned low-cost airline subsidiary and the successor to its AnadoluJet operations. It began selling tickets under the AJet name on March 12, 2024, and started operating as AJet on March 31, 2024. AJet belongs to the Turkish Airlines group, but its own fare package, baggage rules and service conditions determine what is included with an AJet ticket.
What is AJet, and how is it connected to Turkish Airlines?
AJet Hava Taşımacılığı A.Ş. is 100% owned by Turkish Airlines. It is the continuation of AnadoluJet, which Turkish Airlines launched as a subsidiary for domestic operations in 2008. Turkish Airlines established AJet to continue AnadoluJet’s operations as a low-cost carrier.
The transition happened in 2024: ticket sales under the AJet brand began on March 12, and AJet flights began on March 31. In practical terms, AJet is part of the Turkish Airlines group, but an AJet booking is not automatically equivalent to a ticket on Turkish Airlines’ mainline service. Check the specific AJet fare and booking conditions rather than assuming the parent airline’s inclusions or policies apply. Turkish Airlines and KAP ownership and transition disclosures
How large is AJet, and where does it fly?
Turkish Airlines’ 2025 Board Activity Report provides a dated operating snapshot: AJet had 81 active aircraft at year-end 2025 and served 165 routes during 2025, compared with 159 in 2024. The report says its 2025 passenger breakdown was 64% domestic and 36% international. These figures describe 2025, not a live 2026 fleet or schedule count. Turkish Airlines 2025 Board Activity Report
