MAT 2024 registration is closed. The dates below are historical, not an opportunity to apply now: published coverage reported selected February and May 2024 deadlines and test dates, but a complete official schedule for every 2024 administration is not established. For a live application, use AIMA’s current MAT page, which publishes the schedule and fees for the current administration.
What was MAT 2024?
The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is administered by the All India Management Association (AIMA) and used by business schools to screen applicants for MBA and allied programs. AIMA says it has administered the standardized test since 1988. In its 2023–24 annual report, AIMA recorded administrations in September 2023, December 2023, February 2024 and May 2024, and reported that over 600 B-schools considered MAT scores for admissions during that reporting period.
What were the reported MAT 2024 dates?
The available dates are selected historical dates, not a verified year-wide schedule. February dates below were reported by The Indian Express. May dates were also reported by The Indian Express; AIMA’s annual report independently confirms a May 2024 administration, but does not establish those exact dates.

The February report also listed additional internet-based test dates; the available evidence here does not establish a complete date and deadline list for those sessions. Do not infer missing 2024 dates from other cycles.

How did MAT 2.0 change the May 2024 test?
AIMA’s 2023–24 annual report says MAT 2.0 was introduced from May 2024. It describes changes to the exam structure, content focus and duration, including newer segments addressing current business and economic trends. Anyone using a preparation guide should check that its edition matches the pattern for the relevant exam; a guide is not a registration requirement.
How to check current registration and choose a mode
For an upcoming administration, rely on the live AIMA page rather than old 2024 coverage. AIMA currently lists PBT and CBT modes and posts its current schedule and fee information on that page; dates and fees change, so confirm them there before applying. The current page’s fees must not be treated as 2024 fees.

- Compare the official registration deadline and test date for each mode.
- Choose paper or computer delivery according to your preference and practical access to test cities.
- Check any fee or score-reporting difference only if AIMA states it for the administration you are applying to. The available information does not establish a universal advantage of one mode over the other.
Who can apply, and how do admit cards work?
AIMA’s current FAQ lists graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent as the minimum qualification. Final-year undergraduate students may apply provisionally. A minimum graduation percentage, if required, can vary by institute, so check each program’s criteria.
For current administrations, AIMA says provisionally registered candidates download their admit cards through the applicant dashboard according to the schedule. Its FAQ says admit cards are available three days before the relevant PBT or CBT date. Follow the dashboard instructions for the applicable session.

Does a MAT score guarantee admission?
No. Participation and admission criteria vary by institute and program. Before applying, confirm that the specific program accepts MAT for the relevant intake, review its eligibility and selection requirements, check its application deadline, and verify its approval or recognition status with the institution or relevant authority. AIMA advises: “Candidates are advised to recheck with the concerned institutes/universities before applying for MAT.”
