Travel + Leisure reported four distinct Away suitcase deals in its roundup: the Softside Carry-On for $180, the Softside Medium Checked for $236, the Softside Large Checked for $260, and the Large Trunk for $348. These are historical prices, not current offers. Amazon separately said a 23-inch Away Softside Bigger Carry-On was up to 30% off; that was a different deal claim, not confirmation of the same price or discount.
What Away luggage deals were reported for Prime Big Deal Days 2025?
Travel + Leisure’s October 8, 2025 roundup said selected Away suitcases and accessories were 20% off during the 48-hour event. Its listed prices and product details are historical and do not establish what any item costs now.
| Suitcase | Reported event price | Reported regular price | What the roundup described |
|---|---|---|---|
| Away Softside Carry-On Suitcase (22-inch) | $180 | $225 | Expandable, with a front pocket and internal compression system; stated height 21.9 inches. |
| Away Softside Medium Checked Suitcase (26-inch) | $236 | $295 | Top-loading nylon design with an expansion zipper, internal compression, and mesh pockets. |

All four prices and product descriptions above were reported by Travel + Leisure on October 8, 2025. They are not live-price checks or guarantees of present availability. The article headline promised nine deals, but its accessible text substantiates four distinct priced Away picks; the remaining five cannot be identified from that text.
How did Amazon’s separate Away discount compare?
Amazon’s own recap of the past event cited up to 30% off a 23-inch Away Softside Bigger Carry-On. “Up to” describes a maximum discount, not a guaranteed reduction on every item or a confirmed price for the 22-inch Softside Carry-On in Travel + Leisure’s list. Amazon’s recap does not provide a matching price that would reconcile the two offers.

Which of the reported suitcases fits your trip?
For cabin travel: Softside Carry-On
The roundup’s 22-inch Softside Carry-On was the smallest of its four named picks. Its front pocket and internal compression system may help organize items for a shorter trip, while its expansion feature offers added packing flexibility. Check the airline’s current cabin-bag size rules and the live product listing before buying; the published 21.9-inch height alone does not establish fit for every airline.
Rank #2
- The Perfect Size: The textured, scratch-resistant exterior of this hardshell carry-on luggage is 15 x 10 x 23 inches" with wheels and meets the cabin size restrictions of most airlines.
- Stay Organized: This small hard-sided carry-on suitcase provides ample packing room with a spacious 20.5" x 14.5" x 10.0" interior. The elastic straps, divider, and pouch ensure everything stays neatly in place
For a checked bag without trunk proportions: Medium Checked
The 26-inch Softside Medium Checked was the mid-size option. Its expansion zipper can add packing room, and the internal compression and mesh pockets separate belongings. The source does not state a specific trip length for this model.
For longer trips: Large Checked
The 29-inch Softside Large Checked was presented as an option for trips of two weeks or more. The water-resistant laundry bag is a practical detail for separating worn clothes. Travel + Leisure also described a limited lifetime warranty for functional elements including the shell, wheels, handles, and zippers; check Away’s current warranty terms for applicable conditions and exclusions.
Rank #3
- Carry-On Approved Size: 22 in. hardside spinner measuring 22" x 14" x 9.5" overall, sized to meet most major airline carry-on requirements
- Smooth 360° 4-Wheel Spinner System: Four quiet, EZ-glide in-line blade spinner wheels roll effortlessly in any direction
- Lightweight Hardshell: Durable 100% ABS shell weighs just 6.4 lbs empty
- Easy-Grip Handles & Locking Trolley: Push-button recessed telescoping handle locks at your preferred height, plus padded top and side carry handles for lifting into overhead bins
- Fully-Lined Interior with Compression Straps: Adjustable straps hold clothing flat and secure
For bulky loads: Large Trunk
The 31-inch Large Trunk has a different shape and packing layout from the softside cases. The roundup reported 107 liters of capacity and a 70/30 opening ratio, which divides the case into a larger and a smaller packing side. It also listed a TSA-approved lock. Its larger format makes it a checked-baggage choice, not a cabin alternative.

- Check the current listing. The October 2025 figures are historical promotional prices. Confirm the live price, model name, dimensions, stock, and seller before making a purchase.
- Compare like with like. The 22-inch Softside Carry-On and 23-inch Softside Bigger Carry-On are separately described products in the published deal coverage. Do not assume their sizes, prices, or discounts match.
- Compare against your travel needs. Cabin rules vary by airline, while checked-bag weight and size limits also depend on the carrier. Confirm those rules before choosing a case.
- Judge a discount against a usable price. A percentage off is less informative than whether the current price fits your budget and whether the specific size and features suit your trip.
For contemporaneous context, Kiplinger’s early-deals roundup covered other travel bargains, including a Samsonite Freeform 28-inch suitcase and compression packing cubes; those were not Away products and do not add to the Away deal list. Kiplinger’s roundup.
