AIIMS NORCET-08 is no longer open for applications. The application window ran from 24 February to 17 March 2025, closing at 5:00 p.m. The original notice, exam dates and rules below are useful as a record of that cycle, but they cannot be used to apply now. For a current recruitment opportunity, check the latest notices on the official AIIMS examination portal.
What was AIIMS NORCET-08?
AIIMS New Delhi issued Notice No. 34/2025 on 24 February 2025 for recruitment of Nursing Officers, Group B, at Level 07 in the pay matrix. The recruitment covered vacancies at participating institutions. AIIMS describes NORCET as an All India Common Eligibility Examination for recruitment of Nursing Officers in AIIMS. The notice and the NORCET-08 advertisement relate to that completed cycle only.
When did applications close?
Applications were accepted online only from 24 February through 17 March 2025, up to 5:00 p.m. The deadline has passed. The former application address is not a way to submit a NORCET-08 application now; consult AIIMS notices for the status of any later cycle.
AIIMS instructed applicants to retain the submitted application form and payment proof. It also warned that eligibility claims and certificates could be checked later, and that unsupported or false claims could lead to cancellation of candidature.

Who was eligible under the NORCET-08 notice?
The notice set out two broad qualification routes. Candidates also had to meet the applicable nursing-registration and institute-specific requirements.
| Route | Qualification and conditions in the NORCET-08 notice |
|---|---|
| B.Sc. route | B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing, or specified post-certificate/post-basic B.Sc. Nursing qualification, with nursing registration. |
| GNM route | General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) qualification, nursing registration, and two years of experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds. The notice required this experience to be acquired after the relevant qualification, course residency, result declaration and nursing-council registration. |
These are summaries of the NORCET-08 rules, not a substitute for the exact qualification language or the participating institute’s detailed requirements in the official notice.

Age and application fee
For AIIMS, the general age range was 18–30 years, calculated on the application closing date and subject to the stated relaxations and institute rules. The listed application fee was ₹3,000 for General/OBC candidates, ₹2,400 for SC/ST/EWS candidates, and no fee for persons with disabilities. These were conditions for NORCET-08; a later notice may set different rules.
How were the examinations structured?
NORCET-08 had two computer-based test stages. The preliminary test was the first stage; the main test assessed nursing knowledge and competency through case-scenario-oriented questions. Both stages carried one-third negative marking. Sections were timed, and candidates could not return to a section after moving on.
Rank #3
| Stage | Scheduled date | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Stage I: NORCET Preliminary | 12 April 2025 | 100 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes: 20 General Knowledge/Aptitude questions and 80 questions from the nursing syllabus. |
| Stage II: NORCET Main | 2 May 2025 | 160 nursing multiple-choice questions in 180 minutes, focused on case scenarios and nursing competency. |
AIIMS later confirmed that Stage II took place on 2 May 2025 and that the result notification was dated 6 May 2025. The schedule and format above come from the NORCET-08 notice and the subsequent information brochure.
What happened after the result?
Institute allocation used NORCET rank and available vacancies. Qualified candidates were asked to submit institute preferences from 10 to 16 May 2025. Candidates who did not select an institute were not eligible for allocation to an institute they had left unselected. The process and result-related details appear in the NORCET-08 information brochure and AIIMS Notice No. 172/2025 on institute allocation.

Where to check for a current AIIMS Nursing Officer recruitment?
NORCET-08 is a historical notice, not a live application opportunity. The AIIMS portal has since listed a NORCET-11 notice in 2026. Application dates and eligibility are cycle-specific, so use the AIIMS examination portal to identify the latest notice and confirm whether its application window is open before taking action.
