In CoinMarketCap’s meme-token category snapshot captured on October 7, 2026, the five leading meme assets with the largest reported seven-day percentage gains were PENGU, TRUMP, DOGE, SHIB and PEPE. “Red-hot” here means only that dated performance screen—not a safety rating, popularity ranking or forecast. Crypto prices can move sharply, and last week’s gains do not predict what happens next.
Five meme coins ranked by seven-day gain
The table uses the captured CoinMarketCap category results and ranks tokens by their seven-day change. Market capitalization and 24-hour volume are not included because current, comparable values were not established in the snapshot figures available for this article. Check the live category page for those measures before relying on them; values can change quickly.

Why each token appears on the list
1. Pudgy Penguins (PENGU)
PENGU had the largest seven-day gain in this captured screen, at 11.65%. That makes it the period’s top percentage mover among the five—not necessarily the largest asset or the most actively traded.
#1 Best Overall
2. Official Trump (TRUMP)
TRUMP recorded a 9.37% seven-day gain, the second-highest in the snapshot. The ranking describes only its measured move over that period.
3. Dogecoin (DOGE)
DOGE rose 6.04% over seven days in the captured results, placing third by the screen’s ranking.
4. Shiba Inu (SHIB)
SHIB’s reported seven-day change was +5.89%, fourth among these five assets.
5. Pepe (PEPE)
PEPE gained 5.00% over the measured seven-day period, completing the five-token list.
Rank #3
How to interpret the ranking
A percentage gain says how much a quoted price changed over a specified period; it does not show whether a token is affordable to trade, easy for a particular investor to sell, or likely to keep rising. Market capitalization provides a size measure, while 24-hour volume describes recent trading activity. Neither guarantees that a buyer or seller can transact at a desired price or that past performance will continue.
CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko may classify assets differently and may report different values. For a like-for-like comparison, use one provider consistently. CoinGecko’s meme-token category also displays measures such as seven-day change, volume, market capitalization, fully diluted valuation and the market-cap-to-FDV ratio; these figures should not be mixed with CoinMarketCap values without clearly labeling the source.

What to check before acting
- Recheck the token’s current price, seven-day move, market capitalization and volume: the October 7 snapshot can become stale.
- Confirm the token and network supported by any exchange or wallet you use. Availability varies by platform and jurisdiction; no particular exchange listing or geographic availability is established here.
- If you already hold crypto and use a hardware wallet, verify the exact token and network support. Ledger’s supported-assets documentation explains that some assets require compatible third-party wallets. A hardware wallet concerns custody; it does not reduce price volatility.
