The latest directly relevant roundup covers Black Friday 2025; its prices and discounts are historical. Use the comparison advice below to assess listings when Amazon’s live offers can be checked.
Why there isn’t a verified 22-deal list yet
Travel + Leisure’s Black Friday luggage-set roundup is dated November 28, 2025. It reported discounts of up to 53% on its selection at that time, including sets from Samsonite, Wrangler, Coolife, Amazon Basics, Delsey Paris, American Tourister, SwissGear, and Kensie. Those listings and prices are event-specific 2025 information, not evidence of current 2026 offers. Read the 2025 roundup.
A more recent Travel + Leisure roundup covered Amazon Prime Day in June 2026, not Black Friday. Its reported prices—including $189 for a Samsonite Freeform listing and $315 for a SwissGear Sion three-piece set—were tied to that past event. Its up-to-51%-off figure applies to that selection and sale only. Read the June 2026 roundup.
Amazon’s shopping calendar does not establish which products will be discounted. A September 15, 2026 TechRadar report said Prime Big Deal Days were scheduled for October 6–7 as a 48-hour event for Prime members; it did not identify luggage-set deals or confirm November offers. How to compare a luggage-set listing
Check what the set actually includes
Piece count can obscure what you are buying. A set might pair a carry-on with a checked suitcase, add another suitcase, or count a tote, backpack, toiletry bag, duffel, or packing cubes as pieces. Compare the named contents, not just the number in the title. For example, the 2025 roundup described a Samsonite Freeform bundle with a large checked suitcase and carry-on; a Wrangler Miami bundle with a carry-on, checked case, and two packing cubes; and an Amazon Basics bundle with carry-on and checked cases. Those are the publisher’s descriptions of historical listings, not current offers or independent tests.
Match dimensions to your trip
Compare each case’s listed exterior dimensions and capacity with your likely use: overhead-bin travel, checked baggage, or both. Airline carry-on rules vary, so check the current requirements for the airline and fare you will use rather than assuming one size fits all. If the set’s listing does not make a component’s dimensions clear, verify them before treating the bundle as a practical fit.

Weigh construction and organization
Identify whether each suitcase is hardside or softside, whether it expands, and what organization features are included. Dividers, pockets, compression straps, and accessory bags can affect usefulness; wheels and handles matter when cases are loaded. Compare the specifications for the exact configuration on sale, since a brand or product family name alone does not establish that every set has identical components.
Judge the price against the precise offer
Before treating a listing as a deal, record the price, date checked, seller, color, and configuration. Prices can differ by color or by the number and type of pieces. Compare the current total with a defensible reference price and avoid relying on an unverified crossed-out “was” price. A discount reported during a past event is not a reliable benchmark for today’s listing.

Keep product claims in perspective
Good Housekeeping’s 2026 Amazon luggage guide says its Textiles Lab evaluates luggage in laboratory settings and in real-world airport and personal-travel use, and has tested more than 100 pieces. The guide names the Samsonite Freeform hardside carry-on as its overall pick. That is evidence about the guide’s testing and its individual carry-on pick; it does not establish that every Freeform set, or every deal in a shopping roundup, received the same testing. See Good Housekeeping’s 2026 guide.
When comparing listings, distinguish manufacturer specifications and retailer descriptions from customer feedback and independent lab or field testing. A detailed product page is useful for confirming what is included, but it is not by itself proof of durability or performance.
