VTU course 21EC61 is the sixth-semester, 2021-scheme course Technological Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship. Its five modules cover management, organizing and staffing, leadership and control, entrepreneurship, and business planning. The syllabus lists a 50:50 split between continuous internal evaluation and the semester-end examination; in the SEE, students answer five full questions, choosing one from each module.
What is 21EC61?
21EC61 is the course code used for Technological Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship in VTU’s sixth-semester 2021 scheme. The syllabus also lists the course under codes 21EI61 and 21BM61. The supplied title’s spelling, “Entreprenuership,” is a typo; the official course title uses “Entrepreneurship.”
The official syllabus describes a three-credit course with 40 hours of pedagogy: two lecture hours and two tutorial hours each week. The course outcomes include understanding management fundamentals and functions, managers’ and entrepreneurs’ roles, social responsibility, identifying business opportunities, and business-plan components and support institutions. See the VTU course syllabus and the VTU scheme for Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. The scheme document corroborates the code and semester placement; the course syllabus itself explicitly includes 21EC61.
The syllabus reviewed is the 2021-scheme version. Because institutions may adopt revisions or contextualize course delivery, confirm with your department that this is the version applicable to your cohort.

How is the 21EC61 exam structured?
The syllabus assigns 50 marks to continuous internal evaluation (CIE) and 50 marks to the semester-end examination (SEE). It describes CIE as combining three unit tests, two assignments, and one group discussion, seminar, or quiz. The SEE is three hours long and contains ten questions worth 20 marks each; students answer five full questions, selecting one from each module.
That module-by-module choice makes balanced preparation practical: the exam structure calls for an answer from every module, rather than allowing students to concentrate only on entrepreneurship or management. Check any current department instructions for local assessment details.
