There is no single set of ten requirements for every Disney Cast Member job. The requirements depend on the opening, location, country, and hiring program. Use these ten checks to assess a specific live listing—not as universal rules—and confirm details before applying.
What are the requirements to become a Disney Cast Member?
“Cast Member” covers many kinds of work, and Disney Careers lists jobs by location and role. Start with the opening you want, then use its current qualifications and application instructions as the authority. Disney’s careers listings are one place to explore roles and locations; availability and requirements can change.
1. A specific opening and location
Choose the resort or business, country, and job title first. A requirement in one location’s posting does not establish a rule for another Disney job.
2. Minimum age
Check the posting for the role’s minimum age; the reviewed official material does not establish one age requirement for every Disney job. The Disney College Program listing reviewed here requires applicants to be at least 18 when applying, but that is a program-specific condition, not a universal employment rule. 3. Work authorization and local eligibility
Confirm that you meet the legal and geographic eligibility conditions for that opening. For example, the College Program listing specifies U.S. school eligibility and valid employment authorization. Those conditions describe that program, not every Disney role.
4. Education or enrollment
A degree or current college enrollment is not established as a blanket requirement for hourly park jobs. Education can matter for internships and student programs: the College Program listing includes enrollment or recent-graduate criteria and requires completion of at least one term or six credit hours before the program start.

Read the qualifications section for skills related to the actual work. For instance, a Walt Disney World Resort concierge listing asks for communication and problem-solving skills. Those are examples for that position, not requirements for every Cast Member. See the concierge listing.
6. Required credentials or licenses
Check whether the posting names a credential, license, or other qualification. The cited concierge listing asks for a driver’s license; that example does not mean all Disney jobs require one.

7. Availability and schedule
Match the required days and hours against your real availability. A Disneyland Resort third-shift custodial listing calls for availability seven days a week, including weekends and holidays, and describes overnight scheduling. This is a condition of that opening, not a schedule rule for all jobs. Read the custodial listing.
8. An audition, if you are applying to perform
Auditions apply to relevant entertainment opportunities, not to every Cast Member role. If you are pursuing performance work, use the official Disney Auditions portal and follow the instructions for the applicable role and talent type.

9. The application steps and requested materials
Follow the live listing’s instructions and provide everything it requests. Application steps can differ by role, location, and pathway; do not assume that one workflow applies across Disney jobs. Entertainment applicants should also follow the applicable audition instructions.
10. Program-specific conditions and timing
Keep the College Program, internships, and other named schemes separate from standard job openings. Their eligibility rules and dates are specific to each program and may change. Review the current program listing rather than relying on requirements from an older application cycle.

How to check a Disney job before applying
- Find the live listing. Search by location and job title on Disney Careers and open the exact position you intend to pursue.
- Read the qualifications and schedule. Note each stated age, authorization, education, skill, credential, and availability condition. Treat requirements as applying to that posting unless Disney states otherwise.

Do I need to be 18 to work at Disney?

Do Disney Cast Members need to audition?
