What the available evidence can show is more limited: some artists have been reported using private aircraft, but access is not the same as personal ownership.
Why “can’t afford” cannot be verified from public wealth estimates
To establish that a person cannot afford an aircraft, you would need evidence about their finances and the aircraft arrangement—not just an estimate of their wealth. Public net-worth figures are estimates, not audited personal balance sheets. They do not show how much money someone has available, what they owe, whether an aircraft is financed or owned through a company, or who pays its ongoing expenses.
The sources available for this comparison do not provide a consistent, authoritative dataset ranking rappers by ability to buy and maintain a private jet. They therefore cannot substantiate a list of 10 artists who cannot afford one. Naming people on that basis would turn missing financial information into an unsupported claim.

Aircraft access is not the same as owning a jet
A private flight can be arranged in different ways: an individual may own an aircraft, a business may own or arrange it, or a traveler may pay for a charter or other flight service. The reporting above illustrates why the distinction matters. Lil Pump’s reported spending was for flights; Drake’s account involved an offer connected to Cargojet; and older reports about Jay-Z and DJ Khaled describe travel or preferences rather than establishing present-day personal ownership.

Unless a source identifies the owner and arrangement, a photo, flight, named aircraft, or report of frequent private travel does not answer “Does this rapper own their jet?” It answers only that the person was associated with, or had access to, private aviation in the circumstances described.
What the reported wealth figures can tell you
Forbes estimated Jay-Z’s net worth at $2.8 billion as of September 10, 2026. Forbes real-time profile That is a dated estimate, not audited personal financial information and not evidence of aircraft ownership. Forbes has also described Dr. Dre as a billionaire and discussed the businesses behind his wealth, including the Beats sale. Forbes, 2026 This reporting does not establish that he owns a jet.

Wealth reporting can provide context about an artist’s estimated financial position, but it cannot, on its own, establish that the person can afford a particular aircraft. Nor does one artist’s reported wealth create a meaningful affordability threshold for others. The cited reporting does not provide comparable aircraft purchase or ownership-cost totals, so there is no supported cost figure to apply to these cases.

In a 2017 Haute Living interview, Ross said that a personal private jet was “the one thing I don’t have.” Haute Living, 2017 That statement predates his 2025 interview discussing a Gulfstream G550 and business use. The two accounts should be read in their respective time frames; the earlier quote should not be presented as a current description without qualification.

Even newer reporting may leave questions about title, financing, business use, and expenses unanswered. A clear claim about ownership needs a clear source for ownership, not an inference from travel or wealth.

How to assess a claim that a rapper owns a private jet
- Check what is actually reported. Does the source say the artist owns the aircraft, or only that they flew on it or used it?
- Look for the arrangement. A company offer, business use, charter, or paid flight can explain access without proving personal ownership.
- Keep the date attached. Travel and ownership circumstances can change; a report from 2003 or 2019 is not evidence of the situation in 2026.
- Keep wealth estimates in their lane. Attribute the estimate and date, and do not treat it as proof of ownership or ability to cover aircraft expenses.
- Do not infer inability from silence. Lack of public evidence that someone owns a jet is not evidence that they cannot afford one.
