Jon Rahm topped Forbes’ 2025 highest-paid golfers list with estimated earnings of $102 million, followed by Scottie Scheffler at $97 million and Rory McIlroy at $84 million. These are Forbes estimates for a rolling 12-month period dating to the 2024 U.S. Open—not a ranking of earnings in calendar-year 2025. Forbes rounds the figures to the nearest million.
Forbes’ 10 highest-paid golfers in 2025
Forbes’ total combines its on-course and off-course estimates. The figures are in U.S. dollars, rounded to the nearest million, and are not audited salary disclosures. Forbes describes the on-course category as including more than tournament prize money; its methodology includes specified bonuses and annual LIV payments. The off-course category captures estimated earnings outside that on-course total.
| Rank | Golfer | Tour | Total estimated earnings | On-course | Off-course |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Jon Rahm | LIV | $102 million | $92 million | $10 million |
| 2 | Scottie Scheffler | PGA | $97 million | $67 million | $30 million |
| 3 | Rory McIlroy | PGA | $84 million | $39 million | $45 million |
| 4 | Tiger Woods | PGA | $55 million | $10 million | $45 million |
| 5 | Collin Morikawa | PGA | $50 million | $33 million | $17 million |
| 6 | Joaquin Niemann | LIV | $49 million | $47 million | $2 million |
| 7 | Xander Schauffele | PGA | $48 million | $28 million | $20 million |
| 8 | Bryson DeChambeau | LIV | $45 million | $42 million | $3 million |
| 9 | Hideki Matsuyama | PGA | $42 million | $17 million | $25 million |
| 10 | Phil Mickelson | LIV | $40 million | $38 million | $2 million |
Forbes’ 2025 ranking puts the ten golfers’ combined estimated earnings at $612 million, 10% below the $678 million combined total Forbes reported for 2024.
What Forbes’ earnings figures include—and exclude
Forbes says its list tracks earnings over the 12 months dating to the 2024 U.S. Open. The period is not the 2025 calendar year, so the ranking should not be read as a tally of money earned from January through December 2025. Forbes’ methodology describes the window and how it treats on-course income.

- The Strata 12-Piece Men's is designed to give you maximum performance right out of the box for more confidence from tee-to-green. The lightweight 460cc forged driver, fairway wood, hybrid, irons and putter make up a set that provides a great combination of distance, forgiveness and control, and is very easy to hit.
The on-course figures are broader than official tournament money: Forbes includes specified PGA Tour bonuses, TGL bonuses and annual LIV payments. The list counts cash compensation and does not reflect PGA Tour equity awards. Because Forbes rounds estimates to the nearest $1 million, small apparent differences between players should not be treated as exact or audited compensation gaps.
Why other 2025 golf earnings lists differ
A ranking can change when its measurement period or definition of earnings changes. Forbes’ rolling-period estimate is not directly comparable with a calendar-season prize-money table or a tour’s official-money tally.

- Season-based earnings: Golf Monthly’s 2025 year-end table lists Scheffler first at $50,897,050, McIlroy second at $35,877,054 and Rahm third at $33,429,211. That table uses a season-based period and is not the same measure as Forbes’ rolling 12 months.
- Official PGA TOUR money: The PGA TOUR’s 2025 Media Guide records $27,659,550 in official money for Scheffler. That narrower figure is not a competing calculation of his Forbes $97 million estimate, which covers another period and includes broader income categories.
