To place an order, shop through Apple’s education storefront and complete UNiDAYS verification when prompted. Eligibility, product limits, taxes, and temporary promotions all affect the final cost.
Who can use Apple’s Education Store?
Apple’s personal Education Store is for specific education customers in the United States and Puerto Rico. Apple lists these eligible groups:
- Higher-education students: People currently attending, or accepted to, a qualifying public or private college or university.
- Parents of higher-education students: Parents buying on behalf of a child who currently attends or has been accepted to a qualifying institution.
- Higher-education faculty and staff.
- K–12 employees: Employees of public or private K–12 institutions.
- Homeschool teachers.
- School-board members and PTA/PTO executives: Elected or appointed members who are currently serving.
Apple explicitly includes parents buying for college students, but its published personal-purchase categories do not similarly list all parents of K–12 students. A private tutor, volunteer, or education-adjacent worker should not assume eligibility. Check Apple’s eligibility terms or ask Apple if your role is not listed.
The personal store is not a purchasing channel for schools or other institutions buying equipment for organizational use, and it is not for resale. Organizations should use Apple’s education institution information to find the appropriate procurement route.

How to access the Education Store
Start at Apple’s U.S. Education Store, rather than the regular Apple Store. The education price is built into that storefront; it is not necessarily a coupon code you enter later. Apple’s education pricing is regional, so use the store serving the country or region of the institution tied to your eligibility. The U.S. guidance covers the United States and Puerto Rico.
How UNiDAYS verification works
Apple currently requires education-status verification through UNiDAYS before checkout. You may be asked to verify during checkout, or you can start through Apple’s education verification page. Apple says that if you sign in with your Apple Account before verification, the verified status remains active for one year. The exact screens and evidence requested can vary.
Apple’s reviewed help pages do not establish one universal document checklist. Be ready to provide information that supports your category if requested, such as a school-issued email address, current enrollment or acceptance details, faculty or staff employment information, or information connecting a parent’s purchase to an eligible college student. These are practical materials to have available, not a guaranteed list accepted in every case. UNiDAYS describes its service at myunidays.com.

If verification fails
- Check that you are using the Apple Education Store for the region that matches the institution.
- Search for the institution using its official name and make sure your personal details match its records.
- Try a school-issued email address if you have one.
- Use UNiDAYS support or its alternate-document process if the automated check does not work.
- Avoid repeatedly opening accounts with conflicting names or school information.
- If Apple’s page loops, the education price disappears, or a verified account cannot check out, contact Apple through chat or call 1-800-MY-APPLE, as directed on Apple’s verification page.
How to buy from the Education Store
- Go to apple.com/us-edu/store.
- Choose a product category, such as Mac or iPad, and open the product page.
- Select the exact model and configuration, including finish, memory, storage, connectivity, and any accessories you want.
- Review the education price for that configuration, then add it to your bag.
- Sign in with your Apple Account before verification if possible, then complete the UNiDAYS check if prompted.
- Review the bag for the configuration, education price, any promotion, AppleCare+, trade-in credit, financing terms, taxes, and delivery or pickup details.
- Submit the order and save the confirmation and any eligibility-related records.
Apple also supports education purchases at Apple Retail Stores and through authorized campus resellers, subject to its quantity limits. A campus seller may have different services or return procedures.

Education pricing applies to selected products and configurations, not every Apple product. Apple’s U.S. Education Store lists products including MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, MacBook Neo, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio, iPad models, Apple Watch, and selected displays and accessories. Check the live Mac or iPad education page and your cart for the price that applies to the product you want.
On August 18, 2026, Apple displayed the following education-store starting prices. These are dated “from” prices, not guaranteed prices for every configuration or a promise of a particular saving against public pricing.

Apple’s pages can change with configurations, promotions, and updates. Compare the live product page and final cart, not a search-result snippet or an old price. A meaningful price comparison uses the same model and specifications—such as chip, memory, storage, display, and connectivity—on the same date.
How many products can you buy?
Apple publishes these annual quantities for U.S. education purchases:
| Product category | Apple’s stated annual limit |
|---|---|
| Desktop | 1 |
| Mac mini | 1 |
| MacBook | 1 |
| Display | 1 |
| iPad | 2 |
| Apple Watch | 1 |
| Accessories | 2 |
Apple applies the limits cumulatively across its online store, Apple Retail Stores, and authorized campus resellers. “Per year” is Apple’s stated limit; do not assume it resets on January 1. Ask Apple if the timing of a purchase matters or you are unsure whether an earlier purchase counts. See Apple’s education sales policies.

How to compare the real cost
The education-store price is only one part of the purchase decision. Compare the same configuration and calculate the total delivered cost, including applicable tax, delivery, optional coverage, and any trade-in or promotion. Apple’s regular-store product pages can help with a public-price comparison, but make sure the specifications match.
- Tax: Education pricing does not automatically make a purchase tax-free. Apple says federal tax-exemption certificates are not applicable to these orders; tax is calculated based on the order’s delivery or pickup circumstances and applicable law. Review the amount at checkout.
- Financing: Financing is a payment arrangement, separate from the product discount. Apple lists payment methods including Apple Pay, Apple Card, credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Gift Cards, and Apple Account balance; some methods may not work for every order type. Apple Card financing requires approval and an Apple Card. Check the checkout terms for the current rate, term, taxes, and eligibility rather than treating a monthly payment as the total price.
- Trade-in: Apple Trade In may reduce the net cost, but its offer depends on the device and its condition. Check the current estimate at Apple Trade In and compare it with keeping or selling the device another way.
- AppleCare+: Coverage is optional and adds to the cost. Apple advertises that students and educators can save up to 10% on coverage for a new Mac or iPad; review the current offer, coverage, and price on Apple’s AppleCare page and at checkout.
- Gift-card value: If a promotion applies, account for the gift card only after checking its terms and whether you would use it. It is not the same as an immediate reduction in the device’s purchase price.
Current education promotions
As displayed on August 18, 2026, Apple’s U.S. Education Store was advertising a limited-time gift-card offer with eligible Mac or iPad purchases. The offer is not a permanent Education Store benefit, and its value and eligible products can change. Before ordering, read the promotion’s footnote and confirm the eligible model list, purchase dates, gift-card amount, and whether a customized configuration qualifies. Check how the offer interacts with financing, trade-in, or other discounts, and what happens to the gift card if you return the device. Do not assume the offer applies unless it appears in the product details or cart.

Apple’s U.S. Education Store account policy generally allows a return or exchange within 14 days of receipt. Apple requires the receipt and the product in original condition with included parts, accessories, and packaging. A product must be returned in the country where it was purchased; purchases made through another retailer follow that seller’s return policy. Check the live terms, particularly if your order included a promotional gift card.

Apple says it routinely audits education-pricing purchases. If it determines that the purchase conditions were not met, Apple may charge or invoice the difference between the education price and the applicable general-public price; its terms refer to the closest equivalent product if Apple does not sell that exact product publicly. Do not buy for resale, exceed the stated limits, or treat access to another person’s student credentials as automatic permission to make any purchase. Keep records that support your eligibility. The rules are set out in Apple’s education sales policies.
When another buying option may be better
| Option | When to consider it | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Regular Apple Store | You are not eligible, or a public offer may be better. | Compare the same configuration, current promotion, and final cost on the public Apple Store. |
| Apple Certified Refurbished | You want a lower price and can consider an older model or whichever configuration is in stock. | Inventory is variable. Apple’s refurbished store describes refurbished products as backed by a one-year warranty; confirm the specific listing and configuration. |
| Authorized campus reseller | You value local pickup, campus-specific bundles, or school support. | Compare the offer and return process, and remember that Apple’s education quantity limits still apply across channels. Apple provides education institution information. |
| School-provided equipment | Your institution may issue a device or require a specific managed model. | Check school requirements before buying privately. |
| Used-device market | You are willing to accept more condition and seller risk to seek a lower price. | Check battery health, activation lock, warranty, repair history, and whether the device is legitimate before paying. |
| Institutional procurement | A school, district, college, or organization is purchasing equipment for its own use. | Use an institutional purchasing route, not a personal Education Store order. |
Education pricing is worth checking, but it is not automatically the lowest net price. The right choice depends on eligibility, the exact configuration, current offers, and the value you place on a new device, support, and return terms.
