Dell’s 2025 Partner Program added conditional incentives for storage growth, PC sales, new-customer wins and AI networking, while expanding AI and sustainability enablement. The changes were aimed chiefly at established channel partners—not every Dell reseller automatically qualified. The 2025 program year is now historical: Dell has since published a 2026 program, so partners should use their current regional terms for forecasts and decisions.
What Dell changed in its 2025 program
Dell announced the program on February 5, 2025. Its official incentive document labels the period Program Year 2025 (FY26), a reminder that Dell’s program-year numbering differs from the calendar year. The redesign was an update to Dell’s existing tiered ecosystem, not a wholesale replacement: it shifted emphasis toward storage, new-account acquisition, Client PCs, AI infrastructure and services. Dell’s announcement described the goal as more predictable engagement and profitable, sustainable partner growth.
The headline percentages and multipliers are eligibility opportunities, not across-the-board discounts or guaranteed earnings. Tier, partner track, region, product, quarterly performance and the governing incentive rules can all affect payment. Dell’s announcement explains the headline changes; the applicable agreement, regional Benefits & Requirements document and incentive terms govern the actual economics. Dell’s 2025 Incentive Terms is one regional document, not proof that identical rules apply everywhere.
How the 2025 incentives worked
| Incentive | Who or what it covered | Key qualification |
|---|---|---|
| 2% Storage+ growth incentive | Titanium partners | Eligibility depended on meeting quarterly targets. It was not 2% on every Dell or storage sale. |
| Incremental 1.5% Client growth incentive | Titanium partners selling Client PCs | Tied to quarterly Client PC unit targets, not tier status alone. |
| 4% Compete Select acquisition rebate | Gold, Platinum and Titanium metal-tier partners | For qualifying new business in storage, data protection or Client+; Dell described the opportunity as covering large, underpenetrated accounts and expanding eligibility to previously ineligible end users. |
| 3× AI Networking multiplier | Eligible Dell PowerSwitch Z-series sales within the AI Networking incentive structure | The announcement identifies the Z-series; it does not establish a multiplier for every AI-related Dell product. |
| 3× services-tier revenue accelerator | Qualifying storage-attached services and storage-based Dell APEX subscriptions | Only qualifying services and subscriptions count; a hardware sale alone does not establish eligibility. |
These are the figures Dell announced for 2025, not a formula for calculating a partner’s total margin. The public announcement does not settle whether each incentive stacks with base rebates, deal-registration benefits, distributor promotions, MDF, MyRewards or financing. Nor does it provide every eligible product list, account definition, measurement date, claim deadline or payment mechanic. Do not add the headline percentages together when forecasting a deal; confirm stacking and calculation rules in the partner’s applicable program documents.

Why storage, AI and services received emphasis
Storage and data protection
The Storage+ growth incentive and Compete Select rebate put storage and data protection near the center of the commercial changes. For a partner with storage expertise, the potential value is not just product volume: qualifying attached services and storage-based APEX subscriptions also retained the services accelerator.
AI infrastructure and networking
Dell connected the program to its AI Factory portfolio and updated its Data Science & AI competency. The enablement was intended to help partners develop repeatable architectures and position Dell products for AI workloads. That is distinct from delivering AI consulting or implementation, and neither training nor selling AI infrastructure by itself proves eligibility for a particular incentive. The named 3× networking multiplier was specific to PowerSwitch Z-series products under the AI Networking incentive.
Client PCs and customer acquisition
The Titanium Client incentive rewarded quarterly unit growth, making it relevant to commercial PC refresh sellers and MSPs involved in device lifecycle work. Compete Select, by contrast, focused on qualifying new business in specified categories and accounts. These mechanics favor partners able to plan a sustained sales pipeline; a one-off transaction or a deal that lands in the wrong measurement period may not meet a quarterly target.

Services attachment
Dell retained acceleration for qualifying services associated with storage and APEX subscriptions. Partners with deployment, consulting, support, education, managed-service or lifecycle capacity may therefore have more ways to participate in solution selling than hardware-only resellers. The announcement does not say that every service qualifies, so partners should validate the exact service and subscription rules before assigning forecast value.
Partner tiers and who could benefit
Dell’s principal public tier names are Authorized, Gold, Platinum and Titanium. A Dell overview describes the broad tier architecture, but it predates the 2025 announcement; use it as a general orientation, not proof of current thresholds or every 2025 benefit. Dell Partner Program Overview and Dell Partner Brand Guidelines identify the tier framework. Dell materials also refer to Titanium Black, but its availability and requirements should not be assumed to apply to every track or region.
| Tier | General role in the ecosystem | 2025 incentive relevance |
|---|---|---|
| Authorized | Entry-level ecosystem access, including portal, training and deal-registration tools, as described in Dell’s overview. | The announcement’s 4% Compete Select incentive was for Gold, Platinum and Titanium, not Authorized. |
| Gold | Higher tier with additional program benefits; specific qualification and benefits are governed by current regional requirements. | Included among eligible metal tiers for qualifying Compete Select business. |
| Platinum | Expanded tier benefits relative to entry-level participation; exact terms depend on partner type and region. | Included among eligible metal tiers for qualifying Compete Select business. |
| Titanium | Dell’s highest standard tier in the public tier architecture, with the broadest general rebate potential and executive support access described in the overview. | Eligible for the announced Storage+ and Client growth incentives if quarterly conditions were met, as well as Compete Select qualifying business. |
The clearest beneficiaries were storage and data-protection specialists able to win new accounts, Titanium partners with enough sales volume to meet quarterly targets, and service-led VARs or MSPs able to attach qualifying services. AI infrastructure partners could benefit where their portfolio and sales included the specifically eligible networking products. A commodity hardware seller without technical, service or program-management capacity might find the headline opportunity less useful.

Partner experience, deal registration and sustainability
Dell said it was improving partner capability matching using prior account engagement, Partner of Record status and completed competencies; offering preconfigured storage, client and server bundles to speed quoting; emphasizing Partner First for Storage; and making Client seller compensation more consistent regardless of route to market. These were intended process improvements, not proof that every channel conflict or pricing delay would disappear.
Deal registration remains an important protection mechanism, but it is not automatic. Dell says that for an approved resale opportunity it will not proactively engage in direct-sales efforts for that opportunity, subject to the program terms. A partner must submit the opportunity and meet the applicable maintenance and program requirements. Customer, product, geography and opportunity rules matter. See Dell’s deal-registration page and the applicable terms rather than treating registration as an unconditional guarantee.

Dell also highlighted an energy-efficiency calculator, sustainability messaging, an RFP portal tool, on-demand training, Product Carbon Footprint reporting and a refreshed Sustainability Competency. These resources can support proposals and procurement responses; their use does not, by itself, establish eligibility for a rebate.

How to join—and what to maintain
Dell’s U.S. registration page lists Solution Providers, Cloud Service Providers and Federal partners as business models available through registration. System integrators, OEM partners and distributors are admitted by invitation, according to that page. This is U.S.-specific guidance: admission paths and rules may differ elsewhere. Dell’s business-model and registration page estimates about 15 minutes to complete an application and about 5–7 days for approval; those are estimates, not service guarantees.
Prepare the application
- Business identification such as a tax ID, registered business number, VAT number, TIN, EIN or RUC.
- Proof of tax ID or business registration, corporate website and a corporate email domain that matches the business.
- A reseller certificate or license where applicable.
- Distributor coordination before applying if the intended route to market requires it.
Keep participation in good standing
Dell’s partner agreement requires participating businesses to maintain good credit standing, meet program requirements, complete required training at their own expense, keep company details accurate, manage personnel access and notify Dell of changes that affect participation. Dell also reserves the ability to change program benefits, requirements, pricing and incentives. Review the live regional documents, including Dell’s Partner Program Agreement, before relying on an announced benefit.
How to judge whether the incentives improve your economics
A headline incentive is only one input to partner profitability. Before building a forecast or changing sales behavior, test the opportunity against these practical checks:
Recommended Free Tools
- Revenue mix: Identify the share of pipeline in eligible storage, data protection, Client PC, PowerSwitch Z-series, APEX and attached-service categories.
- Tier and track: Confirm the correct tier, partner model and regional rules. Enrollment does not automatically confer higher-tier benefits or product competency.
- Quarterly execution: Model whether targets are achievable consistently, not only through a single large deal. Confirm whether timing is measured by booking, shipment, invoice or another event in your regional rules.
- Full deal cost: Include presales and engineering time, training, customer-acquisition costs, services delivery, distributor economics, administrative work and the risk of claim disputes—not only the incentive rate.
- Route to market: Ask whether a benefit applies through distribution, who submits any claim, how registration is handled and whether a direct Dell agreement is required.
- Program operations: Track revenue, units, categories, competencies, training, registrations, targets and claims in a repeatable process. Eligibility can be missed when records or deadlines are not managed.
Exact tier thresholds and incentive mechanics are not established by the announcement alone. Use the Benefits & Requirements document and incentive terms applicable to the partner’s geography, track and program year rather than extrapolating from another region’s PDF. For a route into the ecosystem, start with Dell’s registration information.
What changed after the 2025 program year
Dell has published a 2026 Partner Program announcement and separate 2026 incentive terms, so the 2025 incentives should not be presented as current offers. Dell’s 2026 announcement describes further changes, including strategic-solution rebates, a Focus Accounts incentive and a planned AI-powered partner platform. Those later items belong to the 2026 program, not the 2025 changes discussed above. See Dell’s 2026 program announcement and 2026 Incentive Terms for the later program details.
