| Peripheral | Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 DEX — $139.99 | Amazon | The roundup said it matched its lowest Amazon price at the time | That price-history claim was time-bound; choose based on fit and shape |
Tom’s Hardware also listed a Samsung 990 Evo Plus 1TB at $64.99, a 24-inch Samsung Odyssey G30D 180Hz monitor at $119.99, and a Corsair K100 RGB keyboard at $169.99. Those, too, were historical prices rather than live recommendations.
Which GPU deal made sense?
RTX 5060 Ti 16GB: the mainstream candidate
The Newegg listing was specifically for MSI’s Shadow 2X OC Plus RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB of VRAM at $429.99, against a stated $489.98 reference price. Do not confuse it with an 8GB RTX 5060 Ti: memory capacity is part of the model’s value, particularly for games and workloads that use more VRAM. Tom’s Hardware judged this version a strong value option, but that is an editorial assessment rather than a guarantee that it suits every resolution or game.
RX 9070 XT: a higher performance tier
The roundup listed a PowerColor RX 9070 XT for $699.99 at Amazon, down from $799.99, and an ASRock Steel Legend model at Newegg for the same price, described as near its lowest price. It characterized the card as a high-end 16GB option. These listings are not a like-for-like alternative to the less expensive RTX 5060 Ti: choose by the games, resolution and features you use, not by comparing discount percentages alone.
AMD and Nvidia cards can differ in rasterized gaming, ray tracing and vendor-specific features. The roundup does not supply a uniform set of benchmark results for these particular listings, so it does not establish a universal performance winner.
GPU fit and effective cost
A graphics card’s sale price is only part of the cost of using it. Before buying a present-day equivalent, check:

- Whether your power supply has adequate capacity and the connectors the exact card requires.
- Whether the card fits your case, including its length, thickness and clearance around other components.
- Whether your case can provide enough airflow for the card’s cooling design.
- Whether its VRAM and performance tier suit your resolution and intended games.
- The board-partner model’s warranty, cooler, noise characteristics and seller. Specifications can differ between cards using the same GPU.
A discount on one unusually large or loud card may be less useful than a smaller, quieter model at a slightly higher price. “Lowest price” and “best value” descriptions should be treated as the publisher’s time-specific judgments unless supported by a price-history record.
Which SSD deal offered the best fit?
Samsung 9100 Pro 4TB: capacity and PCIe 5.0 speed
The 4TB Samsung 9100 Pro was listed for $399.99 at Amazon, down from $549.99. The roundup quoted advertised sequential reads of up to 14,800MB/s. That is a peak sequential specification, not a promise of proportionately faster booting or game loading. PCIe 5.0 drives can also produce more heat than many PCIe 4.0 options, so check the motherboard’s M.2 heatsink and the drive’s cooling requirements.
WD Black SN850X 4TB: high capacity over headline speed
The PCIe 4.0 SN850X 4TB was $256.49 at Amazon, against a stated $283.99 prior price. Its listed peak speeds were up to 7,300MB/s reads and 6,600MB/s writes. For a large game library, capacity can matter more than buying the fastest interface: the best choice depends on available M.2 slots, workload and price per terabyte.
Samsung 990 Evo Plus 1TB: a lower-cost capacity option
The 1TB 990 Evo Plus was listed at $64.99, down from $104.99, and described as supporting PCIe Gen 5×2 and Gen 4×4 operation. Confirm that the drive’s interface and capacity match the slot and system you intend to use. A low purchase price is less attractive if 1TB will force another storage purchase soon.
SK hynix Beetle X31: portable storage
The external Beetle X31 2TB was listed at $118.98, down from $144.99. The roundup described it as USB 3.2 with advertised speeds up to 1,050MB/s. Real transfer rates depend on the host port, cable and workload. Confirm the enclosure and connection type, especially if you plan to use it with a laptop or console.

- BREAKTHROUGH POWER EFFICIENCY: Use less power and get more performance; Enjoy up to 50% improved performance per watt over 980 PRO, plus optimal power efficiency with max PCIe 4.0 performance**
- SMART THERMAL CONTROL: Samsung's own nickel-coated controller delivers effective thermal control; With its slim size, 990 PRO is a perfect fit for desktops and laptops that meet the PCI-SIG D8 standard***
- THE CHAMPION MAKER: Up to 65% improvement in random performance enables faster loads for an ultimate gaming experience on PS5 and DirectStorage PC games****
- SAMSUNG MAGICIAN SOFTWARE: Get the most out of your SSD with Samsung Magician's advanced yet intuitive optimization tools; Monitor drive health, protect valuable data, and receive important updates for your 990 PRO
For any internal drive, verify whether it is a bare M.2 drive or a heatsink-equipped version, and check laptop or console compatibility for the exact device. Advertised sequential throughput does not by itself establish compatibility or everyday performance.
Which CPU was the better deal for a build?
There was no universally best processor among these offers: the motherboard, memory, cooler and existing platform can outweigh the chip’s discount.

Ryzen 7 7800X3D: gaming-focused AM5 choice
Amazon listed the eight-core, 16-thread Ryzen 7 7800X3D, with 96MB of L3 cache, for $359 against $449. It uses AMD’s AM5 platform. It is most compelling for a buyer whose gaming workload benefits from this class of processor or who already owns a compatible AM5 motherboard and DDR5 memory. For a new build, price the full platform before treating the CPU discount as savings.
Core i5-14600K: coupon-dependent Intel value
Newegg listed the 14-core, 20-thread Core i5-14600K for $149.99, compared with $214.99, with coupon code EPE35 stated as a requirement. Its core layout is six performance cores and eight efficiency cores. It uses an LGA1700 motherboard; check board compatibility and BIOS support, and budget for suitable cooling. A coupon-based price is only useful if it applies to the exact product in the final checkout.
Core Ultra 7 265K: account for the newer platform
The Core Ultra 7 265K was listed at $259, down from $404, with eight performance cores, 12 efficiency cores and 20 threads. Because it requires a newer platform than the 14th-generation 14600K, compare the total cost of its motherboard and memory as well as the CPU. The lower chip price alone cannot settle which platform is less expensive.

Choose by workload, existing parts, cooling needs and the cost of a complete system. Gaming, heavily threaded productivity and an upgrade that reuses a motherboard can lead to different answers.

Gigabyte Aero X16: a balanced historical configuration
Best Buy listed the Aero X16 with an RTX 5070 laptop GPU, AMD Ryzen AI 7 350, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD and a 16-inch 2560×1600, 165Hz display at $1,299.99, down from $1,649.99. The memory, storage and display made it a comparatively complete configuration on paper. Whether it was a good purchase depended on the GPU’s power limit and cooling, screen quality, battery life, noise and whether the memory or storage could be upgraded.
ASUS ROG Strix G16: high-end gaming configuration
The 2025 ROG Strix G16 listing was $2,609.99 at Amazon, compared with $2,899.99. It paired an RTX 5080 laptop GPU with 16GB of VRAM, an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, 32GB DDR5, 1TB SSD and a 2.5K, 240Hz display. That is a substantially more expensive performance tier than the Aero X16. A laptop GPU is not equivalent to a desktop GPU with the same family name: power limits and cooling affect sustained performance. A 240Hz screen is most useful when a system can produce suitably high frame rates in the games you play.
For either laptop, inspect the exact model and seller and compare display quality, GPU wattage, cooling, weight, battery life and upgrade options. The listed configurations do not establish every detail of those characteristics.

MacBook Air M4: portable general use
The 15-inch MacBook Air M4 with 16GB unified memory and 256GB storage was listed at $999, down from $1,199. A 512GB version was listed at $1,199.99. Tom’s Hardware presented the Air as a broad-use option; the configuration decision is important because storage and memory are not simple later upgrades. The 256GB model can be limiting for large creative projects, games or local media libraries.

The Air has no active fan, so it is not the same class of sustained-performance machine as a MacBook Pro. macOS app support and gaming availability also differ from Windows. Check that essential software and peripherals work in the ecosystem you choose.
MacBook Pro: for workloads that need its configuration
The roundup also reported discounts on 14-inch MacBook Pro M4 and M4 Pro models with differing memory, storage and processors. It positioned the M4 Pro as a workstation-oriented choice; that is an editorial recommendation, not a substitute for matching the exact configuration to your applications. Compare chip, memory and storage on the specific listing rather than assuming every 14-inch model is alike.
Which monitor deals suited different desks?
| Monitor | Historical price and listing | Best fit | Trade-off to consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alienware AW3423DWF | $549.98 at Amazon, listed down from $699; 34-inch curved QD-OLED, 3440×1440, 165Hz, FreeSync Premium Pro | Immersive ultrawide gaming and compatible desktop setups | OLED care, text appearance, desk space and game support for ultrawide resolution |
| ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQDM | $549 at Amazon, listed down from $749; 27-inch 1440p OLED, 240Hz, advertised 0.03ms response time | High-refresh 1440p gaming where the PC can deliver high frame rates | OLED image-retention risk and the value of 240Hz for your system |
| Samsung Odyssey G30D | $119.99 at Amazon, listed down from $199.99; 24-inch VA, 180Hz, advertised 1ms response time, FreeSync | Lower-cost high-refresh gaming | VA viewing-angle and motion-performance compromises may matter by use and model |
OLED and QD-OLED can be attractive for contrast and motion, but image retention or burn-in risk depends on use and care. Text clarity, subpixel layout and screen coating vary. If your work keeps static menus or windows visible for long periods, consider that alongside the display’s warranty and care features. For all three, check ports, VRR range, HDR implementation and stand adjustment on the exact model; the historical deal listings do not establish all of those details.
Which peripheral discounts were worth considering?
- Corsair K100 RGB: $169.99 at Corsair, listed down from $289.99, for a full-size optical-mechanical keyboard. Switch feel and layout matter more than a discount percentage; try the switch type if possible.
- HYTE Keeb TKL: $149.99, listed down from $199.99, for a tenkeyless configuration. It saves desk space by omitting the number pad, which may not suit data entry.
- Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 DEX: $139.99 at Amazon, described by the roundup as matching its lowest Amazon price at the time. Treat that price-history statement as historical, and prioritize shape, hand size, weight and battery life.
- Razer DeathAdder V3 HyperSpeed: $84.99 at Walmart, down from $99; the roundup identified it as a 55g model and noted that 8K polling requires a compatible dongle. Check whether that accessory is included and whether the feature matters to you.
- Redragon GS550 Orpheus speakers: listed at $19.99 with a Newegg code. The code was part of the past promotion and should not be expected to work now.
Coupon prices can fail at checkout, and high polling rates or premium sensor specifications may have little practical benefit for many users. Fit, preferred switch feel, connectivity and return terms are more useful buying criteria than headline specs alone.

Quick Recap
How to judge a similar sale without overpaying
- Identify the exact model. Match GPU VRAM, SSD capacity, RAM, laptop screen and processor, or peripheral configuration—not just the product family name.
- Calculate the checkout price. Include coupons, clipped discounts, shipping, taxes where relevant and any membership requirement. Confirm the price after applying the code.
- Check the reference price and seller. A percentage discount is meaningful only against a credible comparison price. Note whether the seller is the retailer or a marketplace merchant, and review returns and warranty coverage.
- Price the whole system. For PC parts, include motherboard, compatible RAM, cooler, power supply, case clearance and any other required upgrade. For laptops, compare the whole configuration rather than the GPU label alone.
- Match the deal to your use. Consider capacity, workload, resolution, portability and software compatibility. Do not pay for PCIe 5.0 speed, 240Hz refresh or a high polling rate unless your system and use can benefit.
- Verify availability at purchase. Flash prices, inventory and coupon terms can change quickly. A deal roundup or product link may lead to an expired offer, a different configuration or a listing from another seller.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
